Mysterious, horrifying, scary, hilarious and disturbing are just a few words to describe the movie The Visit. Another scary and shocking movie created by M. Night Shyamalan (M. Night). This movie includes plot aspects in it, like the turn of events, relating to other horror movies he directed (Ex: The Sixth Sense) (O’Malley). This movie is recommended by movie reviewers for those who like to watch a haunted comedy. This film may begin as a family film, but it rapidly picks up with horrific events. The film starts with the wise and protective daughter Becca filming her loving but funny mother. Their face and baked goods are welcoming, but their evil smiles are warning. As they arrive at the house, Becca continues her “movie” with shots of their surroundings. She also interviews her grandparents asking them about the night her mom left, which ends unpleasantly with her grandmother. The brother Tyler also pitches in on the movie his sister Becca is creating, but he does not take it as serious. In the movie, Tyler plays a huge part in the comedy with his rapping and odd ways of swearing (by replacing sweares with celebrities names). As Becca spends more time with her grandparents videoing them and learning more about them, she sees sides of them that are exceptionally unusual. When she finds her Nana caught on video threatening the kids or going insane in a rocking chair she realises something is wrong. She also finds it unsettling when she spots her Pop Pop with a gun in his mouth. The children begin to agree that something is very skeptical and they together begin to investigate with their film making project. What they find is shocking and a twist that is unforgettable, especially to the mother of the
