FAIR IS FOUL AND FOUL IS FAIR In the tragedy, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the inscrutable theme of “fair is foul, and foul is fair” serves throughout the play. The line is a prediction that the witches make it seem like one thing really is another. The inscrutable theme affects Macbeth by turning his life into a downside. Macbeth shows his true colors throughout his power. He is introduced as a warrior. He is introduced as a hero. He is introduced as someone who’s fame in the battlefield leads him to the honor from King Duncan. Macbeth 's true colors are made clear when he reveals his inner emotions and thoughts. Macbeth murders Duncan to become king. Macbeth takes a life to be successful.
Macbeth is initially presented as valiant, brave, noble, honourable, loyal and courageous by King Duncan, for whom Macbeth is a general. Duncan receives reports of Macbeth’s heroism. Because of the victory, Macbeth, who is Thane of Glamis, will be given the title of Thane of Cawdor. Duncan orders the execution of the rebel Thane of Cawdor and sends messengers to announce to Macbeth that he has been given Cawdor 's title. Macbeth is not content with what he is awarded. Macbeth is convinced that he can only have power by killing Duncan.
