The Tragedy of Macbeth is a well known story that revolves around the word “ambition” but this ambition isn’t always self driven by someone, but rather through the influence of someone else who maintains control of the situation. The story is about a man whose desire to be the king and have power leads to the murders of those who might stand in his way. Throughout the story we see many characters who play major parts in how one event follows another, and how some characters seem to completely have control of the events in the story. Although in Macbeth the Three Sisters and Macbeth exhibit some control over the events, Lady Macbeth has the most responsibility.
1. I think that Shakespeare wrote in blank verse because sometimes when I am reading something that rhymes and is super long I eventually don't even understand what I am reading, I think it aids the drama even if it is confusing. I'm just thinking about all the words rhymes and kinda give myself a beat to go off of. So I'm not actually focusing on the sentence just the words that are rhyming. Shakespeare seemed to smart, and plus that is how a lot of things were written back then.
Macbeth is one of the most important characters in the story “Macbeth”. The name “Macbeth” means ‘son of life’ in Gaelic. He is a scottish general and the thane of Glamis. In the beginning of the play, he is shown as a brave soldier and a powerful man by showing his military achievements such as by destroying and having victory over the rebel Macdonwald and Cawdor. Macbeth fights with a great courage and violence in the battle and receives the thane of Cawdor.
Similarly, Macbeth’s wife also died later in the play by suicide, as revealed when Seyton informs Macbeth that his wife has died after Macbeth questions the cry of a woman (who was Lady Macbeth). Furthermore, another similarity between the two is they have both killed someone in the play. As both Macbeth and Macduff are warriors, they have both killed people over the course of the play. This can be seen in Macbeth, where he envisions “...a dagger which [he] see[s] before [him]...” that leads Macbeth to Duncan’s room prior to Duncan’s assassination (2.1.33). Macduff’s act of murder is illustrated near the end of the play in the faceoff between him versus Macbeth.
Thus, Macbeth conflicts with Duncan, Banquo, Lennox, Macduff, Ross, Mentieth, Simward, and all noble Scotsmen. Of course, Malcolm III must be included in this list, and even the three sisters whom Macbeth encounters in Act I since they make predictions that work against Macbeth.” (ENotes, “Homework Help”). As previously stated, most if not all characters present a kind of contrast towards Macbeth; all the characteristics of the minor characters highlight the flaws in the type of person Macbeth is. Duncan is a foil because of his role as king, the role that Macbeth desired and sought after.
Thesis Statement- Over the course of the novel, we slowly see the degradation of one's mental being into their decent into madness and the vice that is greed. That person being the main protagonist, Macbeth. Detailed Chunks of Information From the beginning of the play, we see Macbeth as being a noble and trusting soldier who gladly and faithfully stands by the king's side without question. That is until his encounter with the three witches.
In the play The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macduff proves to be the true hero. Macduff proves to be the true hero of the play for being loyal to his country and killing Macbeth. Macbeth and Macduff differ because Macbeth is conceded and a killer, while Macduff is not. Macduff, the Thane of Fife, proves to be a loyal man when it comes to his country and his people. For example, Macduff deserts his family in order to go to England to meet with Malcolm and the king of England, so all three of them can go back to Scotland to defeat Macbeth for once and all.

When the witches tell Macbeth future of being king he started to think “If I were king then it's meant to be or not” so he didn’t really care at the time. Until he told Lady Macbeth so she had a different opinion she started to have to thoughts about being queen so she convinces Macbeth to kill Duncan. There were three ways that Lady Macbeth moved the play forward and that is she convinces her husband Macbeth to kill Duncan and seems to represent evil schemes and with a lot of power can cause some people to go selfish and greedy.
Macbeth’s mental condition begins to dwindle as time goes on, starting with the murder of Duncan. At first, Macbeth is seen as a soldier that everyone aspires to be, strong, brave, and compassionate about his duties to the king. In act one scene two, Captain says, “...For brave Macbeth-well he deserves that name-...” This shows that he is a likeable person who has only the objective of serving his king. After meeting with the witches and hearing his prophecy, Macbeth starts to think about what it would be like to be king of Scotland.
The incorporation of important and plot-shaping minor characters within the play Macbeth showcases how something so little can shape someone's entire existence In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, we see many characters such as Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Malcolm, and Macduff who play key roles in shaping the plot of the play, as they are the major characters. However, the minor characters we see so briefly, such as Lady Macduff and Duncan serve a larger meaning than you may think, as their murders and lives shape Macbeth's entire persona, on his bloody and gruesome journey to the thrown. Duncan plays a vital role within Macbeth but is only truly there in the very beginning. His murder is the start of Macbeth's craze for power, as he will now take down anything and anyone in his way to get to the top. This first murder is crucial to the plot as it seems to be the murder that leaves both Macbeths traumatized, but also leaves Macbeth unfulfilled.

The play “Macbeth” is about an ambitious man, who becomes full of guilt from his actions. The famous play is written by Shakespeare, an author from Stratford-upon-Avon who did not start writing until he was 28. In “Macbeth” there is a sad person, a sadder person and the saddest person. The sad person is Macbeth, the sadder person being Lady Macbeth and the saddest person is Macduff because of the loss of his family.

Macbeth is not wholly evil because of is heroism in the war, his love for Scotland, and because he didn’t want to kill King Duncan initially.
