In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth displays three different character traits. These traits are bravery, ambition and self-doubt. His character weakens as the play progresses due to the influence of some outside forces, the 3 witches’ prophecies and Lady Macbeth who is very manipulative.
Macbeth is set in Scotland in the 14th century. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is brave and level-headed, he leads the Scottish army into battle. His mental stability declines throughout the play and he begins to have hallucinations.
