Everything that has happened and everyone that has lived, molded the United States one way or another. From Truman firing General MacArthur during the Korean War, to Richard Nixon resigning as President. A major event for the United States was the Civil Rights Movement. This movement was an era for equal rights and treatment of African Americans in the United States. In 1954 segregation became legal, and many Americans believed it should not be. Some famous people during this period was an activist leader, Martin Luther King Jr., the 35th U.S. President, John F. Kennedy, and Malcolm X, an African American leader.
