Malala Yousafzani is the leader that I choose to write about. Her life and work has ignited a glimmer of hope that with great faith and ambition anything is possible. Malala’s set the foundation of her journey by having the opportunity to be born into a family that valued an education. She had the opportunity to witness the value of an education and the cost of not having an opportunity when it was almost taboo for females. Malala used her drive to be educated like her male brothers as the only sounding board she needed to begin her journey on a path of voicing her opinion about obtaining an education. At age four, Malala enjoyed mimicking her father’s role as a teacher and an individual who saw education as a way to stay informed. Malala named after a brave woman named Malalai who went into battle to tend to the wounded men. Malalai was known as the Joan of Arc in Afghanistan. Malala was born into a legacy of strength, power and knowledge. She was destined to be a leader and a person of great vision. Her work towards education was paved by her father who believed that education is power and everyone who wished to earn it should have the ability to achieve it. …show more content…

Surrounded by people who were taught at her father’s school, she was exposed to everything that was being taught to the boys in class. Her love for books, academia, academic achievements, steered her passion in education. A competitive spirit drove her to want to beat out the boys in her class. Her determination to work harder to be the smartest in the class demonstrated her will to do her best at all times. Malala’s passion for education guided her political viewpoints to engage in conversation on the importance of why girls should be allowed to be educated.
