“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Says Malcom x. Malcom Little was born on May 19 , 1925. His family was frequently attacked by the the Klu Klux Klan or the KKK. Malcom X was a man that risked his life to make the country fair. Malcom X was a African American leader that articled race,pride,and black nationalism.
MLK’s “I have a dream” speech promoted the idea of integration. He believed that the races were created equal and that blacks should be respected as American citizens. Malcolm X followed Muslim principles and believed that he would protest “by any means necessary.” He would do whatever needed in order to obtain freedom for African-Americans whether it be violence or nonviolent. Malcolm opposed integration and believed that blacks needed to fend for themselves in the fight against whites.
On 19 May 1925, Louise Little gave birth to Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. At first, Malcolm Little led a troubled path of preaching radical Islam and opposing desegregation and integration, but later he converted and worked for racial equality. Because he challenged power, told of immediate troubles, suffered discontent, and provided fear of the Lord, one might call Malcolm a modern-day prophet. In other words, Malcolm shows the characteristics of an ancient prophet, thus making him a modern prophet. Although Malcolm was born in Nebraska, his family moved to Lansing, Michigan when he was just an infant.
This worked to great success, and he was one of the main reasons the civil rights act was passed in 1964. On the other hand, Malcolm x used violent protests and actions in order to try to achieve
What Martin Luther King Jr and Malcom X were trying to do with their speeches is to inspire the African American community to get jobs or even create jobs themselves. Both MLK and Malcom X have similar ideas with what they are doing and in their speeches, but they also had some different ways of doing things. Both MLK Jr and Malcom X want African Americans to be able to get jobs. This just shows Malcom X and MLK Jr both wanted equal oppurtunites to get a job as everyone else did. "This is nonviolence at its peak of power, when it cuts into the profit margin of a business in order to bring about a more just distribution of jobs and oppurtunities."
The book of Malcolm X talks about at the age of fourteen how Malcolm X was the president and a top student. But at the age of sixteen he was hustling people for tips at a Boston nightclub also the founder of the black panthers group at the time when Martin Luther King Jr lead the civil rights movement in Montgomery Alabama also Malcolm X was an outspoken person also how he spoke instead of preaching to African American including all races also he had been sentence for 10 years in prison after he served paroled for seven years then he was appointed to be a minister and national speaker for the Nation of Islam, also began the teaching of Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad.
Isabella Hernandez Mr. Salazar Period 3 7 February 2018 Malcom X : Rise up Malcom Little, also known as Malcom X is a Muslim activist who used a very unique method of dealing with discrimination towards the black community. He was very persistent with the issue, he would stop at nothing until justice was met. His methods were very different compared to people like Martin Luther King Jr. who used a more calm and non-violent method when dealing with discrimination and racism.
Martin Luther King Jr said,“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools”. In the late 1960s, racial tension was high, African Americans were not given the right to vote, the right to a fair education, and the right to a fair judgement. This then led to the separation of schools and the destruction of a normal livelihood. Dr.King and Malcolm X, two men in the face of oppression rose up to challenge the racial barrier, thus changing the world forever. Although Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X seem to have mutual respect and an equal understanding of the inequality, their philosophies were quite different from each other.

In the speech of Malcolm X “Address to a meeting in New York, 1964” there are many words or phrases that I had trouble understanding. Some of the words or phrases are Pilgrimage, Devoutly, Complacent, Strife, Animosity, and Brutality. I am using my context clues to figure out what those words mean. The words Pilgrimage and Devoutly are new and unfamiliar words to me so I decided to look at the sentence that the words are in.
Imagine a world in which everyone was honest and trustful. This world may sound like the world that people are living in, but in reality, people have something to hide or lie about. Although it is not possible to make someone tell the truth, it is possible to investigate and discover whether someone is lying or not. However, it is easier now than ever to find out whether someone is lying with modern technology, such as polygraphs. Some people believe that it is unethical to know so much about people and that people should have more freedom.
Malcolm X and his ideals are arguably a representation of the transition from the early 1950 's non-violent movement for integration to a more aggressive black power movement. Evidence of this is shown through powerful strands of his novel “The Ballot or the Bullet” including when he writes, “I don 't mean go out and get violent, but at the same time you should never be non-violent unless you run into some non-violence.” (Malcolm 439). In writing that members of the civil rights movement should never be non-violent he does so facetiously. This excerpt indicates a call for violence as a more powerful method for achieving the equality he feels they deserve.
He portrays an activist ethos through his confrontation because he acts as the catalyst for change within his audience. Malcolm addresses his audience about passively allowing whites to prosper by stating, “The white man is too intelligent to let someone else come in and gain control of the economy of his community. But you will let anybody come in and take control of the economy of your community… under the pretext that you want to integrate. No, you’re out of your mind” (Malcolm X 212). This quote demonstrates motivation through confrontation because Malcolm uses the difference of the actions taken by each ethnic community in order to show African Americans that they are being submissive to the white community.
Thesis [part b] What arguments does Malcolm X make in favor of violent action to reclaim African American rights? Malcom X argues that Black ballots were being wasted. Congress has opposed bills that were intended to support the equality and civil liberties of Blacks. White
should have acted differently to work with Malcolm X, and possibly change the time period the Civil Rights Act was established. Martin had all the right words to say to keep whites and government officials from being completely against everything he had to say. Although, Martin did not have enough action steps to establish equal rights, Malcolm X certainly does. Consequently, it is likely that Malcolm X was an example of how to protest in an effective way. If Martin Luther King Jr. was more demanding and forceful like Malcolm X, the Civil Rights Act could have been established years before it was.
