The concept of justice is dependent on a character’s view point on a situation. Randel McMurphy is the latest addition to the psychiatric ward, and is able to witness the extent in which the patients are being neglected with fresh eyes. In response to the injustices that McMurphy observes, he takes it upon himself to be the one to stand up to the authority of Nurse Ratched, as Kesey writes, ““Just what I said: any of you sharpies here willing to take my five bucks that says that I can get the best of that woman—before the week’s up—without her getting the best of me?”” (Pg. 66). While it is in McMurphy’s nature to gamble, he is also a man of justice.
The business world during the 1990s was forty-seven percent female, and fifty-three percent male (Mulligan). Surprisingly, however, the percent of women entering the workplace has stalled. In the early 2000’s the percent of women that worked peaked at seventy-seven percent, and has yet to change from that, still, this is a huge increase compared to the amount of working women in the early 1900s. Unfortunately, it is estimated that women make seventy-seven cents per dollar, compared to men.
Examples provided throughout the analysis of the gender wage gap among different occupations including- pharmacists, doctors, lawyers, and financial specialists, create for a real world application of the issue and brings the situation home for many people, therefore helping them to create meaningful connections. The use of credible sources in an essay makes a substantial difference, as it did in this essay by cementing and supporting critical ideas. The use of a credible source such as, Claudia Goldin, a Harvard University labor economist, to explain data, trends, background information, and to provide the ability to strongly counter other arguments was essential in the establishment of ethos and logos throughout this essay. The use of a credible source created a sense of trust between the audience and the reader, therefore leading to a strong argument created by Miller. With the help of Goldin, Miller established a strong central argument for the pay gap being connected to gender and takes a strong stance that does not back down, thanks to the allusions to
“Today gender roles in our society have changed considerably in recent decades: there are more women in the workforce, many doing jobs held exclusively or primarily by men, and a growing number of men who choose to stay home with the kids while their partner works outside the home.” (639) Although we’re transitioning away from the stereotypical view of gender roles many issues still exist, such as women to earn less than males from the workforce. But
The phrase supply and demand will come in handy for the problem with nurse-patient ratio. Mason mentions, (2016,503), Although there is a lack of nationally collected and analyzed data on the nursing workforce, researchers have predicted a nursing shortage of 300,000 to nearly 1 million nurses by 2030(justice et al.,2012). Shortage of nursing have care givers to drop out of the profession due to over work and safety issues. I have witness in my career of nursing caring and smart nurses change profession due to being overworked at their place of employment.
For the analysis of the differences of annual income dependent on the individual variable of gender (male or female), we created three graphs to tell the tale of the data we gathered. Graph 5 of Appendix A is a statistical data graph that incorporates the average male, female, and state annual incomes over a 10-year span (2005-2014). Annual Florida income was included to show a balance between the opposite genders. Over the years, the graph shows that the wages for males and females are steadily increasing. Aside from the economic crisis around the 2007-2009 period, wages increased due to the increase in minimum wage and other economic development.
The authors make it a point to take the opposing side of the argument. Furthermore, women tend to work longer than who often suffer career-ending
The salary gap in the 2010 survey displays at least ($10,000 – $20’000) dollar discrepancy between men and women. Who report the same experience in job training and who are in the same job position? The survey did not conclude or discuss who the primary source of income was in the job field for each household. So the facts have led to a question should women be asking for more
Due to hospital care reaching an all-time high in America, we need nurses now more than ever before. Currently in America, we have an issue with nurses having too many paperwork to fill out. In the article “We Need More Nurses” by Alexandra Robbins argues we need more nurses in the hospital. Nursing shortage has been a common issue throughout the world. So, his hospital made a choice in the ER to implement changes to the patient ratios and increased the amount of staff. The initial nurse to patient ratio was 1: 4 and move to 1:3. This change has allowed the nurse to provide more time with the patient, increasing the quality of and reducing nursing
In a lot of countries, gender plays a big role in the labor market. For instance, in America, the middle full-time compensation for ladies is 77 percent of that of men [4]. In any case, women who work low maintenance make more than men who work low maintenance [4]. Furthermore, among individuals who never wed or have children, women make more than men [4]. It might be hard to explain such contrasts.
In 2013, the registered nurse minority count was 9 percent in a study done by National Council of State Boards of Nursing and The Forum of State Nursing Workforce Center. In 2013, show that 47
Nursing Shortage is a problem we all should be aware of. There are many factors that may lead to a nursing shortage, such as having stressful and unsafe working environments, and our nurses are being overworked. This is a problem we should be aware of because it is affecting the patient care. Nurses would not have enough time to stay with a patient if they have more patients to worry about. Nurses play a big role in our hospitals and communities, “Nurses play significant roles in hospitals, clinics and private practices.

I have always believed that knowledge, patience, and persistence determine how business ideas take shape. Armed with this belief, I seek to pursue MBA at the University of La Verne and explore the frontiers of the world of business in a full-fledged manner. As I grew up in a business family, I was able to closely observe how entrepreneurial skills and innovation act as the perfect ingredients for preparing solutions that resonate well with the customers.
