The fact that Australia was considered as a global nation, which was ‘open to multiple international cultural, political and economic influences (pp.222), was very contentious. Knight indicates that Australia was encouraged to begin the desire for economic gain and civilisation. He states ‘Australia thus inherited from Britain a European country, its sense of cultural identity and its feeling of superiority towards Asia and Asians’(pp.223). This demonstrates that Australia views towards Asia were constantly changing leading to an increase in problems examples including smuggling and entering legally from other states.

The shoreline disintegration brought on by Hurricane Katrina truly destroyed shorelines and whole islands. The ranges influence by Hurricane Katrina had as of now been debilitated by Hurricane Ivan a year prior, and the toll brought on by Katrina totally changed the scene. The Chandeleur Islands, off the shoreline of Louisiana, no more exist after Hurricane Katrina, and the celebrated beacon on those islands was decimated. Disintegration from Hurricane Georges in 1998 had already everything except pulverized the island, however they had improved when Katrina hit. In the NY Times article “Why the Beach Is a Bummer,” Roxane Gay exploits the beach and the ways it never actually lives up to the expectation many have when summer comes around. Gay speaks of her childhood on the beaches of Haiti and how beautiful it was, but how different it is in the United States because there's such a high expectation for the beach since many areas aren’t surrounded by them. “The beach becomes a kind of utopia — the place where all our dreams come true”(Gay), meaning the beach becomes romanticized by so many when in reality there’s just sand in places where it doesn't belong whether in your book or on your body. Gay expresses how soon after arriving at the beach boredom approaches from having nothing to do besides

Robert Drewe’s 1996 novel The Drowner is, among other things, a representation of Western Australian lifestyle, culture and identity in the late 19th century. At the time, Australia was still a young nation; an “underdog” among Western countries. However, numerous gold rushes brought wealth and prosperity to the nation, attracting millions of immigrants from mainly European countries. Australia’s national identity developed into one centred around the values of hard work, perseverance and mateship—values which are still central to our identity today.
Hammerhead sharks rarely attack humans. Only 17 atacked have happened in the last 450 years but none of the attacks were serious enough to be fatal. The animal i'm going to be comparing the hammerhead to is a bottlenose dolphin. The dolphin doesn't chew its food it just goes down the throat like a snakes. I think that the dolphin would be a better survival than the hammerhead because they live in a lot more places than the hammerhead.
On The Beach (1959)- On The Beach, staring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire, and Anthony Perkins, is one of director Stanley Kramer 's better (7/10 stars) works of of film. This motion picture is an alarming view of what a post-apocalyptic world would look like. The whole film is from the perspective of those people who avoided the destruction of functioning civilization. In the film Australia, more specifically Melbourne, has apparently "evaded destruction ", as it was spared complete obliteration.
