Mao Zedong got power by refusing to settle for traditional ways. He played a big role in a lot of organizations. He became one of the founding members of the communist party. Mao got power in 1949-76. Communism is the founding political party. Chinese society got better economically under mao’s rule because people got opportunities to have better jobs. Society was better socially because it led women and working class people to have a better lives.

This example proves that Chinese society did get better under Mao’s rule because in document #1 it stated that in 1949 peasants became masters of the country. Many peasant families got shares of farmland so if peasants were happy, it was because Mao’s rule were good for the peasants. In addition, according to Document #6 by Mao Zedong informed the people in the communist party about the women who have went to the labor front. This example proves that chinese society did get better under Mao’s society because he wanted man and women to get treated the same so he wanted to make a change for the women so that they can join activities and have the same equal pay as them. Mao said, “Genuine equality between the sexes can only be realized in the process of the socialist transformation of society as a whole.” These are strong words to what Mao said to the communist party because he’s trying to support women so that they can be treated just as man are treated meaning getting the same amount of money because it shouldn’t be based on the sex. Chow Qingli had negative feelings about her own situation so it influenced her to feel positive about the marriage form law. The audience was for the people who were interested in the modern times and her purpose was to talk about marriages in China. It meant that Chinese people started having a better life because this change banned forced and arranged marriages.
