In the novel Time Enough for Drums by Ann Rinaldi, there are many characters. The one that interests me the most is Daniel Emmerson. But there is some things you'd want know about him. He is an older brother to Jemima and David Emmerson. He is one of the most wise and mature of the family.

During the Revolutionary war Sarah risks her, and her loved ones lives to try and help the American army. The continental army benefits from Sarah helping them because she is productive, brave, and wise.

Cirque Du Freak A Living Nightmare by Darren Shan is about two best friends, Darren Shan and Steve Leonard, and how they get tickets to see the freak show Cirque Du Freak, a freak show that features unordinary performers such as the snake-boy, the twisting twins, the wolf-man, Larten Crepsley, and his spider, Madam Octa. They each get into some trouble when Steve finds out a secret and Darren steals something he shouldn’t have. The book is fiction, but Darren says, in the introduction, that everything said in the book happened. The themes include friendship, betrayal, and horror. Steve’s life gets put in danger and it is up to Darren to try and save him, but has to make a deal with Mr.Crepsley in order to do so.
At the end of the year for auditions, I decided to try out for Symphonic band, the top band in our school. Because I was in one of the last bands, a lot of people told me this would be very difficult to do. When the results came in I found out I had made symphonic. I was very proud of myself with how much I had improved within just a year. I even got the Academic Excellence for Concert 2 band award at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

During classes, I tend to be very hard on myself if I don't get something right, so this causes me to shut down and not continue to try. One thing I struggle with the most is alignment and that causes me to fall out of turns. I have seen improvement since jazz one and I will continue to see improvement because I will like to continue to grow. Stella young is a disabled woman who gives a Ted talk on why she is not your inspiration. In this talk she mentions how disabled people as a whole are seen as making huge achievements and being an inspiration to others when they are just living their normal lives. Stella goes on to explain how when she was younger her community wanted to nominate her for an achievement award even though she had done nothing out of the ordinary, but just because she is in a wheelchair. It’s common to idolize images of men and women who are “beating the odds” and are doing things “despite” their disability, when in reality they are “using their body to the best of their ability” (Young, 2014) I agree with Stella’s argument here.
My parents always stressed how we should do our best and have to work for the things we want. Growing up I learned this doesn’t come easy. As everything college is upon us I have reflected on these principles and pondered how I will come up with the money for my college education. The clear cut answer is scholarships. You will see in this essay that I am a worthy candidate for this scholarship.
