Recently, Mariah Carey had an outburst on Facebook when a sound engineer accidentally uploaded the wrong version of her song, “The Art of Letting Go.” Carrey took it upon herself to rant on Facebook about the mistake of the employee, why she didn’t catch it, and ultimately decided to leave the old version up in order to compare the two songs. In the rant she even admitted that, “"There's no doubt in my mind that this sounds like a self-absorbed diva on a 'woe-is-me' tangent,” (Eggenberger, 2013). After this vain act, Mariah Carey was referred to me, by her managers, to see if there might be an underlying conditions. Also, Nick Cannon, her ex-husband, had claimed in an interview that, "My wife, she doesn't even know who Kim Kardashian is,"(Rothman, 2014). Through her appearance and behavior I would conclude that she uses her physical appearance to draw attention towards herself. Her thought process suggested to me that she shows self-dramatization and exaggerated expressions of emotions and it’s possible that she perceives her relationships to be more intimate than they actually are. Her mood during our session told me that she may feel uncomfortable or irritated when she is not at the center of attention and her appearance suggests that she may interact inappropriately with provocative behaviors and appearances.
