Jasmine’s decision to take her mother to the doctor is operantly conditioned. That is a learning system in which behavior is followed based on whether there is a reward or punishment (Aronson, Wilson, & Akert, 2013). Marie having not gone to the doctor, she would have not known about the broken rib and the recovery process. Using exercise to improve well-being is a positive reinforcement. Since Marie is being positively reinforced and not negatively reinforced, she is more likely to continue on with the exercising even after the cure.
In case you want to promote motor response, increase learning and memory, or rid off diseases, exercise has a part in all these activities. It also has a part in Marie and Jasmine’s life as well. The …show more content…

Dopamine is a major monoamine neurotransmitter that has been modulated by activity-induced neuronal adaptation. The monoamine system improves the quality of various brain functions that is reconciled by inducing exercise. For DA, the common activation tool is G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). These receptors can be found in either presynaptic or postsynaptic terminals. DA receptors have the ability of changing long-term depression. Dependent on the DA receptors some are capable of either enhancing or inhibiting long-term depression. The system stimulation of DA is effected according to the intensity of the exercise; therefore, the more intense of the exercise the more monoamine stimulation. Marie’s exercise program has enhanced her motor response, allowing for her exercise intensity to improve. In exercising, higher levels of calcium in the brain are connected to increase of DA. Tyrosine hydroxylase enzyme is activated due to the increase in calcium by calcium-dependent DA. Tyrosine hydroxylase enzyme uses oxygen produced to convert tyrosine into the chemical L-DOPA, which is synthesized by DA. In addition, the DA neuron receptor is protected by neurotoxins when exercise is inhibited (Tzu-Wei & Yu-Min, 2013). Now that Marie has high levels of DA due to her intensity level of exercising, Marie is able to forget about all of her pain she was experiencing before the exercise
