Marijuana is a schedule one drug that brings a feeling of euphoria and bliss, providing happiness to those who consume it. A typically common debate about marijuana is whether or not marijuana is a gateway drug. According to Oxford Dictionary, a gateway drug is a drug that isn't addictive itself but belittles the idea of how bad other drugs really could be, leading to potentially more harmful drugs. Thus, with marijuana supplying generally satisfactory feelings to the mind and body this may cause a person to lose thought of how bad drugs can be, use marjiuana and hard drugs at the same time and, the possibility of living a life with substance abuse.

In the past marijuana has been mixed with wine and used as an anesthetic. “200 CE In China, cannabis was used as an anesthetic during surgery. This goes to show that at one point marijuana wasn't strong enough itself to put someone out so it needed to be mixed with alcohol to strengthen the effect.
