Introduction Norma Jeane Mortenson was born June 1, 1952 she was an American model and actress. Marilyn was unique in her own way - (being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else) Marilyn had a troubled past. She did modeling at a young which boosted her career in singing and acting. She played in 23 movies and she sang near 50 non-remixed songs. She died August 5, 1962 from a drug overdose. Marilyn Monroe’s birth name was, Norma Jeane Mortenson. She was born June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to Gladys Pearl Baker and Martin Edward Mortensen. She had spent much of her time in foster care and in an orphanage, because of her mentally unstable mother and absent father.

She later said that she had been raped when she was 11 years old. She married her boyfriend Jimmy Dougherty on June 19, 1942, at the age of 16. The couple divorced in 1946 because of long distance.

Marilyn accomplished many things she was an actress, model, and singer. Marilyn sang near 50 non-remixed songs. She played in 23 movies At age 19, Marilyn met with Blue Book Modeling Agency founder, Miss Emmeline Snively. Marilyn accomplished many things in life and was a success.
Funeral/Death
Marilyn died August 5, 1962 from an overdose, she was found face down with a telephone in one hand and next to her was empty bottles of pills for depression. Marilyn Monroe's funeral took place at 1:00pm on August 8, 1962, at the Westwood Village Mortuary Chapel on the grounds of the Westwood.
