ESSAY 3 Mark Bertolini is an American businessman and CEO of Aetna. AETNA is a Health and Life Insurance company. Established in 1853 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He ranked 32nd as the greatest business world leader. Mark Bertolini, believes that proper good pay, hiring a good worker can make a business organization successful. He’s enforcement of Change Management: 1. Announcing Aetna’s minimum wage hike, an increase of 11 percent. Some saw an increase of more than 30 percent. And it would cost $11 million per year. It was significantly and arguably the most noticeable wage hike since 1914, when Mr. Henry Ford, owner of Ford motors, doubled his line worker to 5 dollars a day. Before she became the CEO of yahoo, most of the employees work from home. But when she became the CEO last July 2012, she implemented the no work from home policy. In which she make a memo enforcing that all yahoo employee must report to the office. No more working at home. “All employees must and should report to office roles”. In order to implement it, she first ask the human resource director, Ms. Jackie Reses, to make a memo regarding the “no work from home policy”. In which, she believed that working in the office can boost the quality of decisions and business ideas. As she wrote, “some of the best and accurate decisions comes from the hallway and cafeteria conversation or discussions, meets some new friends or office mate and impromptu team discussions. For this change management policy, Mrs. Marissa Ann Mayer was heavily criticized. But because she believe that working in the office and not telecommunicating is the best and significant way to make a brilliant decision.
