Civil disobedience is the act of disobeying governmental commands in a peaceful, non-violent, form of protest. Throughout history, peaceful protest have had a positive impact on free society. Peaceful protest have had the biggest impact during the Civil Rights Movement. During this time, many people have led non-violent protest for their rights, including well known African-American Activist, Martin Luther King Jr.. He was most famously known for his speech, I Have a Dream.

Through all of the work that MLK did with the civil rights movement change came eventually and it even got the civil rights act of 1968 signed by the president at the time Lyndon B. Johnson as a result of all of the work that MLK did. Im sure he was tired but he never gave up for his cause. The sacrifice and suffering was all of the people who should have their natural rights taken away from them as a result of racism and the treating of african americans at the time. MLK led a peaceful protest through the people who agreed with his ideas and that is the best way to get your ideas known which is why his movement was so successful.
Martin Luther King Jr. says he shouldn’t pay attention criticism or he and his secretaries wouldn’t get any work done. Although, he feels like he must explain why he did what he in Birmingham because people were being persuaded to the reasoning of the “outsiders coming in. ”King argues that you can never be an outsider if you live in the United States, because you must know your rights to protect to them. MLK was serving as president of Southern Christian Leadership Conference. The Birmingham branch of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference invited MLK to participate in the direct-action program if needed.
Famous civil rights activists and Baptist minister, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. A person’s character is important when it comes to leadership, friendships, and relationships. Having character comes with trust, honesty, and heart. But, when people begin to burn down churches, lynching others, accusing innocent boys for rape or gunning down innocent people because of the color of their skin, something is wrong. Dr.King’s dream was unity between African Americans and whites.
All in all, MLK is the most important person in the Civil rights movement. He and other African Americans conquered racism and segregation and ended it. He showed that people should always approach problems peacefully and never choose
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a very established man who influenced America to make leaps and bounds in regards to racial injustice. He was born on January fifteenth, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, and led a very normal, two parent childhood, his father being a preacher and his mother also being very involved with the church, along with his two siblings. Martin realized during his youth what a devastating toll inequality was taking on America. An example of this would be when a young Martin and his father went into a shoe store and they were told they will not do business with “colored folk” in the front of the store; this hurt Martin’s feelings greatly, but his very religious mother had always told him, "even though some people make you feel bad
MLK dedicated his life to creating justice and equality during his time. He participated in the Montgomery Bus Boycott, giving speeches and inspiring people to fight against segregation on public transportation (Estrada). This was a powerful example of how people could come together to create change in the world. Additionally, MLK’s tireless work to try and fight for these rights helped inspire many different Americans about perseverance and achieving their goals (Martin Luther King, Jr.). MLK’s actions during the Montgomery bus Boycott gave him the role of being a respected leader in the Civil rights movement.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American, civil rights activist who believed that everyone was equal no matter what race they were. He was born on January 15th, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. King was a very kind and loving man to his wife and four children. King lived in a world where race determined who a person was and what they did. Racial discrimination was all over the place, but it was the worst in the South.
In the 1960s, the issue of civil rights plagued the United States. The main purpose and goal of this movement was to help the cause of African Americans. These people were discriminated against, causing many of them to live in poverty and suffer from poor economic conditions. As segregation was still widespread, many African American people could not get well-paying jobs and their finances suffered because of this. Many Civil Rights leaders attempted to turn these tough econmic times around.

Throughout history, people have had to fight for their rights when others tried to deny them. Today, all people enjoy the benefits of civil rights advocates. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most important civil rights leaders and because of him, there are equal rights today.

Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a good leader because he fought for equal rights, he was a educated pastor, and he lead a movement that left behind a legacy that will be remembered forever. He played a very big role in ending segregation of African Americans in the U.S.(Biography, 2018).
