Good morning sir and class, Today I will be talking about Martin Luther King Jr. I will be giving a brief biography of his life, explain the conflict they faced in their lives, what makes him a pacifist, the principles of human dignity and promotion of peace and reason why King should be seen as a role model for catholics around the world.

Martin Luther King Jr was born in 1929 on the 15th of January in Atlanta Georgia. He was a civil rights activist aswell as a successful baptist minister. He was a very important person in the American culture at the time for black people, as he fought for them and their rights. At the time of Martin Luther King Jr’s life, it was a time of racial discrimination. He was a big part of ending legal segregation against african american people. As well as in 1964, he legalised voting rights for african american people. Also in 1964, this great man received a nobel peace prize for his equal rights campaign and many other important honers. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated on april in 1968. He is and will always be remembered as one of the most highly regarded people to live. …show more content…

In the time of his campaign he faced many issues that many other african americans faced such as not being regarded as a person of equal and being seen as much less important as ‘white’ people. He would not of been allowed to sit in the same spot in the bus and not even be aloud to walk on the same side of the road as white people, worse than this, the african americans were sometimes not been able to be married, suffered segregation and where a very low chance of receiving employment. Martin Luther King Jr’s greatest challenge was the famous speech known as the, ‘ I have a dream speech’. This was the day he was assassinated in
