Why is Martin Luther King Jr a hero? He is a hero because he influenced the civil rights movement. When he influenced the movement, he had said 3 speeches which he said while he fought for a change of the laws of the civil rights movement, but also so white people treat blacks better he got a lot of accomplishments from this. These were some of his accomplishments “Martin Luther King, Jr, was a religious leader and social activist who led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. His leadership was fundamental to that movement’s success in ending the legal segregation of African Americans in the South and other parts of the United States. He helped establish the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization dedicated to full equality of African Americans in all aspects of American life. He promoted nonviolent tactics to achieve civil rights and led several peaceful protests, such as the March on Washington in 1963. He was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1964. He also got president because of his first speech that was in Dublin, GA. He has other speeches he said while he will talk about later. He was the leader of the NAACP. He had also influenced the bus boycott of the 1900s. He made the bus boycott because of bad segregation, and the buses were unfair to black
