“People who put themselves on the line and sacrifice their own safety for the greater good and for others, and anyone in any profession whose concern is the welfare for other people instead of the individual, are inspiring and important,” said Chris Hemsworth, an actor known for playing Thor in the movie, “Marvel’s Avengers.” This quote means that inspiring and important people are willing to help others and put their life on the line. was convincing people to stand up for their rights, he also managed to accomplish many great things that helped end segregation. King spoke to over 200,000 people with his “I Have A Dream” speech on 28 August, 1963 during the march in Washington, about coming together to end segregation in America. He showed them that with peace and teamwork, they could prove to the rest of the America that all humans deserve equal rights. They listened to him and started helping him in his fight against the Jim Crow Laws. Although Martin Luther King Jr. was able to inspire people with his words, he was also able to inspire people with his actions. King was the leader of SCLC, an organization that conducted peaceful protests in many cities, and recruited lots of people to help end segregation. In 1955, Martin Luther King Jr. helped organize and promote the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a peaceful protest which lasted 13 months. During the Montgomery Bus Boycott, African Americans refused to ride the bus.
