What If you were growing up in a time where having ¨Talent¨ Did not matter because of the color of your skin? Maya Angelou was a very strong person. She knew what she wanted and she fought for it! She practically did it all. The story of Maya Angelou teaches people to never give up and ignore the haters and to pursue your dreams. She was abused and it was very traumatic for her When Maya was growing up segregation and racial profiling was buzzing in the south, Which made it hard for her to accomplish her young dreams. She had gone through a lot during her childhood but it might amaze you to what she had become right now. A singer, A dancer, a poet, an author, but what she liked to be remembered by “A woman who teaches by being” (Maya Angelou). It makes people think they should work harder for the things they want in their life, and if I work hard I can accomplish anything.

She was also very confident and had a “beat in her heart and a pep in her walk”. She reminded black woman, men and children to stand up for what they believed in and do what you think is right. She had reminded them also to be confident if they ever want their goals. Like in the words of Maya herself: “If you don't like something change it, If you can't change it, change your attitude”. Her artistic and unique way of words has changed society today. Maya has said before her legacy would contain how she always had hope, and how she got free from her hardships (Freedom).
