Andi Wallick Personal Statement Indiana University School of Medicine Degree Objective: M.S. Pathologists’ Assistant My interest in pathology dates back to high school. I enjoyed most sciences but especially sciences about the body. I knew then that I wanted to work in the field of pathology.
I will soon hold a Bachelor degree in Communication Disorders and my studies have taught me how to communicate with individuals from all backgrounds, professions, and social classes. It taught me sympathy and understanding of human interaction. My long term goal is to work with school aged children and young adults as a speech-language pathologist. I have experience in interacting favorably and effectively with children of a wide range and enjoy doing so. I belong in an educational environment and would like to continue on to the school system and contribute to the success of school aged children and young adults.
Lyric James05/16/18/Certification, Licensure and Scope of PracticeWhen learning to become a medical assistant you have to go to school for a certain amount of time. If you choose to go to Remington College the program is twelve months and then you take your certification test through the NHA. After you take your test and past you are now certify as a license medical assistant. You can apply at hospitals, Dr. Office, walk in clinics and etc. As a medical assistant you are require to do certain job duties.
My purpose for choosing to become an Anesthesiologist assistant was predicated on my interest in medicine and the haste on which I would like to begin practicing in the field. It was my childhood experiences which spurned my interests in the field of medicine and it was because of these experiences that I became enamored with the prospect of working in the field. The one hindrance for me was the amount of time that it would require to ascertain an MD, as I feel my time would be better allocated towards working in the field as quickly as possible. The amount of people that I could potentially impact in the amount of time that I would have been in school is monumental and I consider it to be one of my main deciding factors for choosing AA school
When I enter my kid’s doctor’s office they were all very friendly, helpful. They were all wearing their scrubs. The new doctor that they are going to does not make the receptionist wear scrubs and they can have earrings and facial piercings. The MOS, and M.A are the same, no hoops. Although they are the best and the M.A that’s on staff has been there since I was young, and now she is my kids ' doctor.
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.
When I think about where my undergraduate studies have taken me I am amazed at God's work in my life. Speech pathology was something I never thought of doing. I never had any experience with speech therapy nor had I known anyone who had therapy before. Now, you can barely get me to stop talking about how much I love this field, how important the everyday work of speech pathologists are, and how eager I am to continue my education.

By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. Introduction: For my Credit for Life simulation I chose to be a physician assistant for my profession. I chose this because it had a high paying salary even after taxes, and being a physician assistant meant I spent less time in school than being a doctor meaning I was most likely in less student debt. According to US News and World Report, being a physician assistant was ranked as the third best overall job and the second best job in healthcare for 2022. This is because of median salary, long-term demand, stress levels, and work-life balance.
My enthusiasm for this field is rooted in supporting and caring for others. When people asked me “what do you want to be when you grow up?” My answer was ever changing. The one constant was my passion for helping children. While attending undergrad at Stephen F. Austin State University, this field fell into my lap.
Medical Assistants are there to help patients reach their needs. A medical assistant understands the need for effective communication and applies it in their field of work. They know the importance of knowing how to read the non-verbal messages patients make and respond to the needs they express. These include gestures and facial expressions (Bonewit-West, K. 2009). Knowing effective communications skill help the Medical assistant to observe with close attention to the patient and their needs.
