Everyone should be able to get medicare
About 5 years ago my sister-in-law was pregnant and gave birth to my baby niece when she was only 6 months old and 2 pounds and 14 ounces. My niece was lucky enough to have a high quality medicare coverage and she had to stay in the hospital for 2 months. The cost for everything was $200,000 but my brother only have to pay $7,000. Medicare helped my family to not going in debt and if other family did not have medicare they would have to pay $200,000 out of their own pocket. For some of you who don’t know medicare is a federal healthcare system for people 65 years or older, children, and low wage citizens (The Official Government Medicare site 1). Medicare was made in 1965 by President Lyon B. Johnson, after the civil war happened no one was able to pay for hospital fees (Kennedy 1). This quote shows the amount that medicaid has already help pay people’s medical bills and it tells that medicaid has pay a big portion of money to help people and which made most people not having to pay the full price. For another example from a website it said, “Medicare Part A- Hospital Insurance covers hospital services, including semi-private rooms, meals, general nursing, drugs as part of your inpatient treatment, and other hospital services and supplies” (The Official Government Medicare site 1). This quote shows that medicare A is something that medicare covers for you when you are sent to stay in hospitals and also treatment and medicine you get while you are there, which having medicare will help cover most of the cost and leaving in good
