Medication Dispensing System: A Case Study

184 Words1 Pages
I have not used OMNICELL as a medication dispensing system, but did use it for patient supplies. I liked using it, and found that the hospitals that had an OMNICELL for supplies, where more profitable. When supplies are just laying on shelves, nurses are able to grab more then they may need. When the supplies are locked away in the OMNICELL cabinet, you have to put the patients name in to get the items out. There are less supplies wasted. Yes, in times of emergency its not very helpful, but it does keep track of items to be charged to the patients. It can be helpful, as if you are looking for an item, you just have to type in what you are looking for and it will find it and open the door to that item. It's a more organized and neat system.
