Macbeth had many leadership qualities. This would eventually lead to him overtaking the throne of Scotland. Macbeth would eventually kill King Duncan to take his spot as King. Scots finally get what they deserved in a new, wise leader over the catastrophe that had occurred under the guidance of King Duncan. Macbeth’s rule over Scotland had been around 17 years. In Macbeth, it was said that he had ruled for 1 year. This was likely in part of Shakespeare wanting to display how Macbeth’s ambition and moxie wouldn’t be permitted. All that had occurred was a carmen copy in the play. A fearsome warrior yearns to be King and has to do what is needed to get there. However, a major contrast between reality and the play is the three witches. The inclusion of the three witches was solely based on the beliefs of King James I. It’s evident that there is a lot of truth behind Shakespeare’s creation but the mix of fact and fiction is masterful. Shakespeare really excelled at splitting it someone evenly. This would still provide a sense of realism and not a complete fantasy like some other plays. Another piece of fiction mixed into the play is the location between Duncan and Macbeth. The battle is said to have been in Elgin. Shakespeare taints this to actually be in Birnam Hill.
