The study based in Swedish schools found that students that had social anxiety disorders were much more likely to experience post-traumatic stress symptoms and females were more likely to have social anxiety disorder. The study found that school counselors were the most important facilitators of effective treatment of social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress symptoms, and recommended counselors be well-versed in the treatment of various mental illnesses to facilitate quick and efficient
