Romeo and Juliet timed writing
While there are many characters in the play Romeo and Juliet who could be labeled as the person at fault for multiple deaths the character who stands out the most is Mercutio. Mercutio is friends with Romeo and is a cousin of the prince. Mercutio has two fatal flaws one being that he is rash and the other being to carefree and challenging people. Mercutio is invited to a party at the Capulets manor however he invites Romeo to the party without thinking of the consequences if a fight breaks out. Earlier in the story the Capulets and the Montagues enter a short conflict of fisticuffs and the Prince says that if one more disturbance of peace is created between the Montagues and the Capulets he will have them killed. At the party a fight almost breaks out when Tybalt see Romeo. Tybalt tells Juliet's father but he tells Tybalt to calm himself down and leave Romeo alone. Romeo meets up with Juliet and smooth talks her. Later that night when they have barely spent any time together Romeo proposes. The next day Romeo and Juliet meet at the church and the Friar wedds them thinking that he might be able to gain fame and fortune by wedding them and ending the feud between the two houses. …show more content…

Tybalt calls them out. Mercutio acts rash and challenges Tybalt to a duel. Romeo steps in between Mercutio and Tybalt when they are about to fight. Romeo tells Tybalt that he loves but he cannot tell him why “because Tybalt and Romeo are now related through marriage but Tybalt does not know that” which causes Tybalt to feel creeped out. While Romeo is holding back Mercutio Tybalt stabs Mercutio under Romeo's arm and kills him. Romeo flies into a frenzy and kills Tybalt and gets banished by the Prince.
