this is showing that they are scared maybe even terrified and are questioning everything about themselves. They are sort of confused but as the they go on in stanza 5 they are starting to find strength in that fear and using that fear for there own good in finding a way to come
Have you ever wondered, if life is important enough for you to be happy and not fear death? The poem “Sing your death song” by Tecumseh is coaxing you to live your life with no fear and regrets. The speaker of the poem, which is Chief Tecumseh, is dedicating his life for his people by fighting for their land. The image that is being portrayed is a warrior who is putting his life on the line for the well being of his people. Figures of speech that are being used are simile and metaphor because it is comparing life and death.
The poem "Fear" by G. Mcstrawl uses many different types of figurative language. This poem talks about the feelings of a mother and misery in losing her daughter. She is fearful of her daughter leaving her. The poem uses repeated metaphors, imagery, and symbols to show the emotion and feelings of the mother. The author uses the metaphor, " I don't want them to turn her into a swallow" multiple times.
This poem builds upon the theme of the story which is the fight for truth and justice against an oppressive system, which lines up with the theme of survival despite having the odds stacked against you in the poem by Audrey Lorde. The poem rings similar to Juns own beliefs of speaking up for the disenfranchised and the marginalized. With the Lorde's poem calling people to fight for their survival as it reminds the reader that, “We were never meant to survive”. This alludes to the book building upon the theme within the novel
"Tears are the baseline of every powerful emotion, throughout life or death;"this was a noticeable theme in the poem, which can also apply to many other things as well. The poem represents fear, hope, sadness, assurance, and promises. This matches with the novel, "Girl in a Blue Coat" very well. My character is stuck, and has so much going on, and
The metaphor of the birds also serves to create a sense of movement and tension within the poem, as the birds engage in a battle of wills that reflects the speaker's own struggle for
In the poem Making Sarah Cry, the theme was perseverance because the poem is about a little girl named Sarah who gets picked on every single day. In the text it stated, “To him she must deserve it because she never tried to hide.” This shows perseverance because she never gave up and never went to hide away from all the bullying. Another example why the theme is perseverance is because the poem states, “Leave him alone you bullies, because he's a friend of mine.”
Their story shows how in times of financial problems, family and love stands strong. Kenny Loggins wrote this song as a gift to his brother, Danny. There is an indirect theme which follows the entire story. This theme is love and
Cassie survives by dedicating herself to Sammy, this is illustrated by her continuing to fight through many hardships after her father is killed and she is separated from Sammy. This can also be seen when Ben promises to fight for Sissy; he dedicates himself and his survival to her and continues to fight against all odds for her. Both Cassie and Ben fight for Sammy throughout the entire book even after being told by multiple people that it is impossible. This theme to me means that your dedication, or commitment, to others ultimately affects your survival and how hard you fight. If you are dedicated to someone, like a close family member, you have more of a reason to fight than fighting for nothing.
Halfway through the first stanza Lorde delivers constant everyday fear that people feel on an everyday basis. Using the comparison of an iron wall she delivers “my days collapse into a hollow tube / soon implodes / against now / like an iron wall” (Lorde, lines 2-4). As restriction goes on day-by-day one feels like exploding since there’s a lack of happiness to go on for. This simile gives another view on mourning especially within oneself. Going deep and personal feeling like that old part of you is gone because now you're worrying about your fears.
In the song “Rise Up” by Andra Day, she gives the listener a very clear theme throughout the whole song. The theme is that no matter how many times someone knocks you down, you have to hold your head high then it will get easier. This song is inspiring to many people because maybe kids can relate to how she felt and this song is a satisfactory reminder that not everything gets handed to you, you have to earn it. Andra probably went through problematic times as well is is sharing her life story and telling us how she became successful.
She uses imagery of destruction to present emotions of misery and emptiness that showcase the way of youth, herself included, feel when faced with loss. She uses dark images of blood, death, fire and a flood to explain the tragedy of her situation and the feeling of desperation she experiences. “If you’re still bleeding/You’re the lucky ones”, referring to the fact that she no longer feels jovial or full of life as the “reckless youth” she first portrayed, instead she feels lifeless. The speaker also uses sensory imagery to show the emotional toll the separation has taken on her by saying, “My eyes are damp from the words you left/Ringing in my head.” Even though this person left her, she is so influenced by him and by the bitterness he has left behind that she can physically hear the parting words he left her
The first reason, is figurative language is a key to comprehending a song. Figurative language interprets the main object to emphasize it´s meaning. For example, in Taylor Swift’s Blank Space she uses a simile by saying , “... I can read you like a magazine…”, she is trying to say that she knows what a male’s intention is. She continues interpreting the main object by using the hyperbole “...we’ll take this way too far it’ll leave you breathless or with a nasty scar…”, meaning their love can end in troublesome terms.
This recording is a classic and inspiring example of the sweetness of pop, the passionate vigor of soul, and the groovy feel of R&B. There are many compositional techniques used to convey message in this song. First there is the bass guitar, which provides the melody throughout the song. It begins with a low pitch, and gradually increases until a climactic rise in the mood of the song during the chorus. This could be a representation of being at the lowest point in life, only to rise from the ashes.
She uses a metaphor in her song to reveal that no matter what, she will get back up again stronger than ever. In her song, after she feels sad, she says “I will be rising from the ground” (line 12). This is saying that she is getting past her tough times in her life and is finally becoming stronger again and will enlighten people that she will never give up. Moving on, Lovato uses allusion to relate to her theme, she says “All my windows still are broken But I'm standing on my feet” (line 18 and 19). This shows how Lovato is like glass because she was dropped in her past and never recovered, and still is broken, however, she can still handle it due to her strength of believing in herself.
