Mexico has no nuclear weapons and has little purpose to. Mexico has good relations with the two North American nuclear weapon holders, Canada and the United States. France and Mexico both have embassies in the respective capitals and Mexico also has a Liaison office, a corporation or a communicator ment to facilitate relations between countries, in Strasbourg, France ("Mexican Embassies and Consulates"). The United Kingdom and Mexico also have embassies in the respective capitals, as well as Russia and Mexico. This takes care of the European holders. Mexico has embassies with Israel, Pakistan, India, China, and North Korea. This takes care of the remaining nuclear weapon holders, and leaves a possible nucle. Nuclear bombs and missiles are extremely dangerous to both the target and the user. If a nuclear weapon were to go off while on a ship or in storage, the explosion of that weapon will trigger any nuclear weapons around it. This would cause a chain reaction that, depending on the weapons power and location, could destroy things from a warehouse to a small town (Kimball, "Nuclear Weapons: Who Has What”). Also, the United States, our neighbor, has enough nuclear weapons to blow itself up roughly four times ("United States Has Enough”). That is over fifteen million square mile of land. Nuclear weapons are too dangerous for any party to have within possession. One mishap and it is all over for the holders. Furthermore, nuclear energy should be eliminated because they are prime targets for sabotage. If someone was to infiltrate into a nuclear power plant, they could manually cause a malfunction being a meltdown or an explosion. This would be catastrophic for Mexico because it has its nuclear power plant next to the Gulf of Mexico, destroying both a tourist attraction and the Gulf’s wildlife. Depending on the amount of nuclear material at the plant, the explosion could be the same as if the plant was a nuclear target. This will lessen security budgets and allow for more money to use on the people's
