Michael Jackson is one of the world’s most iconic people. He was a popstar who turned superstar. Jackson traveled the globe performing in front of thousands of people each and every night, changing the lives of many people by showing you can be anyone or anything you want to be. But there is another side to Michael Jackson. Jackson was accused of molesting a young boy (“Avila”). This was released just around when he was becoming a superstar. Rumors were being spread around about how Michael has done bad things to people and to himself. Michael was always unsatisfied with himself.

He was only about the age of seven or eight when he was asked. After learning how well he could sing, he and his brothers made a band, The Jackson 5. Starting small, they played for family and friends. Everyone knew about them in Gary. According to Howard Dobson of the New York Public Library, “After gaining much attention and playing at bigger shows they appeared on the local news. The Jackson 5 signed a record label deal and began recording their music. ‘It was a success’ says Tito Jackson.” The Jackson 5 became famous all over the nation. Buchanan also says, “when Jackson was undergoing trial, the children's stories of what Jackson did to them was changing from when the kids talked to the cops and when they were on trial.” This shows that most likely the families of the kids were just going after his money and coming up with false assumptions against Michael, but my opinion still stands that he is a great iconic person. Jackson did a show and was paid by Pepsi. He took the money and gave all 1.5 million dollars to Michael Jackson Burn Center for Children. He also wrote a song with Lionel Richie called “We are the World.” All the money that he got from the song was all sent to the children of Africa in 1985. After touring the world and getting better and entertaining he thought it would be a good idea to make a scholarship for young negroes. He named it “Michael Jackson United Negro College Fund Endowed Scholarship Fund”. This fund would give any negro student money that wanted to major performance arts and communications. Michael also donated much more to several charities but his biggest accomplishment was showing the people that he do whatever he wanted. Jackson changed himself.
