P.O. Carlus Ingram and P.P.O Harris responded to Interstate 70 Westbound exit ramp at Salisbury Street for a call for a “Department Accident.” After responding they were advised by Driver 2 that he was stationary on Interstate 70 westbound at Walnut Street relative to a call for construction debris on the highway. Driver 1 was traveling westbound on Interstate 70 approaching the rear of Driver 2 patrol vehicle. While Driver 1 was attempting to merge into another lane he side swiped the diver’s mirror of Driver 2 vehicle. All parties stated they were not
How would you like to catch a 91.7 mph. ball from Escobar? Current first baseman of the Royals, Eric Hosmer catches them all the time! Eric Hosmer should win hero of the year award.
I know our stand on retro pay, but I have a concern on how this particular associate was handled. Jose Lainez was part of the Menlo conversion and during the melt down. From what I know… he trained, coordinated and performed various activities which allowed Billy, Greg, and Eduardo to focus on other areas of the operation. Now I wasn’t here during that time frame, but from my stint I have observed nothing but a professional associate who would do whatever it takes to make sure Schenker is successful. In addition to that his innovative ideals has allowed us to achieve major milestones in picking and other areas of the operation.
In “Crime and Punishment: The saga of Richie Parker” published in Sports Illustrated, Gary Smith helps to explain just how many people are affected by a single sexual assault case. He does this in a very unique style by giving 12 sections explaining the incident from different points of view and the effects of a single crime. One person affected was Jill Agostino, the sports copy editor for Newsday. Her unnamed colleague had given her a copy of an article he was writing on Richie Parker and called asking if she liked it. Little did he know, stories like his were keeping her up at night, reminding her of the time she was raped nine years earlier.
For Rich’s decision to be successful, salary and hourly employees need to “trust their leader and feel they will be treated fairly and honestly” (Griffith and Gould 2008). Because the situation and impending decision impact the employees in different ways, he should consult the hourly and salaried employees face to face, but in separate settings. Rich should consult with the salaried employees first to gain insight on his decision. Their reactions will help Rich solidify his decision, then he will continue the consulting approach to share this information with his hourly
I would love to meet Tom Brady in real life. I would love to meet him in Gillette Stadium. He is the starting Quarterback for the New England Patriots, My favorite team. Some people consider him as the Greatest of all time also known as a Goat. He was drafted In the late 6th round of the draft and started as a 2nd string.
In my opinion, Mike Rhodes did wrong on robbing the place, knowing that is a crime so now he would have to pay the consequences that the law gives to him. If Mike doesn’t have enough money to pay for the crime he did he should pay with community service that the judge would have decided instead of giving him a bail that is set for $100,000 it would be fair if he paid less and community service he would
Wes Moore The other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore is about two boys with the same last name who take two very different paths. Wes Moores grow up without a father figure, however, the author Wes Moore’s father Westley passed away due to acute epiglottitis whereas other Wes Moore’s father Bernard was an alcoholic and never around. (Both of the Wes Moores also lived in the Bronx, which had a heavy influence for drugs and crime.) In spite of several setbacks, the author Wes Moore was able to become successful, the other Wes Moore was a failure and spent the rest of his life behind bars.
In Chapter 1 of The Wilmington Ten, Janken wrote about how students from all-white high schools could have been dispersed into all-black high schools in Wilmington, North Carolina in order to help integrate the school system. Instead, only students from the all black high school were dispersed into two different all-white high schools because the community good was defined by what was acceptable to whites. This is relevant to the course theme of critically assessing the significance of events in North Carolina’s African American history because “white privilege” is very prominent in today’s time. For example, Americans of color are far more likely to be victims of law enforcement officers than white Americans. There has been a plethora of killings of African Americans by police
Brad Ludden is a hero because his mom had breast cancer and since then he was inspired to be a kayaker and help people with cancer have life-changing experiences. With these life changing experiences he would make a change in people with cancer. Instead of being depressed because of their cancer they would change their mindset to enjoy life.
Mussallem has a personal feedback box called “ask Mike” where any employee can put concerns in the box to be addressed to everyone (Gollinger, 2015). Everything from wanting more claim chowder to environmental issues have been placed in that box. Michael Mussallem eats lunch in the cafeteria with all employees so people know he is approachable and to get to know all of his employees personally. Many employees in the company say the success of the company is because of his work (Gollinger, 2015) He has won the CEO cancer gold standard and has even spoke in front of the U.S. house committee to fight for patient care.
He works very hard to ensure his employees progress. For example, when he was going to be gone from the office for a while he appointed Dwight Schrute as co-manager and also gave Jim Halpert more responsibilities to give them the experience they needed for their professional growth. Michael Scott also sent Jim Halpert to a different Dunder Mifflin branch to learn more about the company and even assisted Ryan Howard in receiving a promotion at the corporate headquarters. Every time he goes out on a sales call or recruiting trip, he takes an employee with him to mentor them. Even though most of his mentorship is professional related there are instances when he mentors someone in their personal life.
By doing so he wanted to have more control therefore the type of hierarchy culture is also applied to J.C. Penney under his leadership (Kreitner, 2013,
has a coat and tie dress code, however, Melvin was not dressed for the occasion so the host offered to lend him one of the suits they had in house, Melvin of course rejected the offer and refused to wear the suit because of his fear of contamination. He had to stop at a local store to purchase a coat and tie. As soon as Melvin opened the door to the store, he noticed the cracks on the floor and did not step a foot inside, instead the made the sales representative bring him the coat and tie to the door. When Melvin gets back to the restaurant he asks several of the personnel if they served hard shelled crab, he asked so many times that at one point everyone in the restaurant screamed out, “yes”. The characterization of Melvin Udall, is a forty-five
The article written by Dave Jamieson states that the exact wording from the agreement is “Employee covenants and agrees that, during his or her employment with the Employer and for a period of two (2) years after… he or she will not have any direct or indirect interest in or perform services for… any business which derives more than ten percent (10%) of its revenue from selling submarine, hero-type, deli-style, pita and/or wrapped or rolled sandwiches and which is located with three (3) miles of either (the Jimmy John’s location in question) or any such other Jimmy John’s Sandwich Shop.” This agreement, in my opinion, overprotects and violates employment at will. Most states have a policy that employers can adopt that is called employment at will. In this, an employer can fire an employee for any reason (as long as it is not illegal under state and federal law), and employees can leave a company at any time with no just
