Each of us have our own opinion on what a true “renaissance man” really was. Some might say that he would classify as a perfectionist or maybe others say he is knowledgeable in many areas. Many people in the renaissance, people like: Leonardo da Vinci, Albrecht Dürer, and Michelangelo have all been acknowledged as some of the greatest leaders and inspirers during Italian renaissance. Not only did they revolutionize and bring unique and amazing techniques to the art world, they changed the history. For Michelangelo, he was sort of a jack of all trades type of person, and single handedly brought his own type of style and technique into the eye of the people and changed the Renaissance with his originality. He was also the master of representing the human body, revolutionizing artistic techniques changed the course of artistry and methodology for how art is created today, he showed us the humanity in its natural state through his artwork. It’s powerful to the viewer because he depicts it in such a realistic manner. He, along side many others was one of the greatest forces in Italian High Renaissance, influencing people in a positive viewpoint because his paintings were so detailed giving insight to the word of Jesus. Not only as a sculpture, but a poet, architect, painter. Michelangelo was a pessimist in his poetry and seemed like a good person. Being a role model, he showed people all the aspects of the true Christianity. His art reflected the views that he had on the world and its leaders which ultimately led to later inspiring future philosophers and artists, changing the ways other artists portray their works. Michelangelo died in the year of 1564 and his body was finally laid to rest in a beautiful monument in the Church of Santa Croce. He led ideas and expressions of works that have been a huge influence from his time to even our time.
