Leonardo Da Vinci was a painter, inventor, mathematician, and writer in the Renaissance. He became very popular as his work spread across the world. Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, near the village of Vinci about 25 miles west of Florence. He was a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, and investigator of nature. When Leonardo was 15, his father apprenticed him to Andrea del Verrocchio, the leading artist of Florence and a characteristic talent of the early Renaissance. In 1466 he moved to florence and began to developed an artistic sense of his own which went far beyond his teachers style. However, after a while he branched out into other interests such as engineering and anatomy.
