Fitness centers that are opened to the public have been said to be the possible main source for transmitting bacterial infections throughout the community. Although, the overall variety of the bacterial groups living on the surfaces in these indoor centers is still not known. Samples from skin-contact surfaces were collected in fitness centers in Memphis, TN. The objective of this experiment was to evaluate and extensively comprehend the microbial diversity related with fitness center surfaces; and to decide whether distinctive surfaces of fitness centers fill in as potential reservoirs for various bacterial communities. Majority of the examinations from recreation centers, gyms, play areas, and athletics facilities is mainly where people interact with others. This is where the transmission of staphylococci, specifically on methicillin-safe Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) comes into play. After this, Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria phyla were identified to be common. With all the surface swabs collected, there was a total of 25 different genera identified and 63 species founded.
