In the Middle Ages, the power of people impacted the society, because of the Feudal System. In other words, the rankings of people. There were four groups. The Kings and Queens were at the top, then the nobles, the knights, and last peasants and serfs(Doc. 1). Serfs and peasants had very little land given and they even had to provide food that they farmed for the knights and nobles.
When translated to english the French word renaissance means rebirth. This is a perfect description of the event. The Renaissance was a time of rebirth for people between the 1300s and the 1600s, in Florence, Italy. A time of education and self discovery. The Renaissance served as a transitional time between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age.
What exactly was the Renaissance? Well I’m glad you asked, the Renaissance was technically a ‘’rebirth’’ or ‘’revival’’ of art and literature, as some people would describe it as, and it had started in Europe around the year of 1400 and had lasted until about the 1700s. The Renaissance was a time of intellectual excitement, when art and literature blossomed and groundbreaking scientific advances were being made. During this period of time large parts of scientific and cultural advances were beginning to develop, and people were beginning to see themselves in a new way. The Renaissance changed man’s view of man in at least four areas: Art, Astronomy, Literature, and last but not least Human Anatomy.
The Middle Ages was the time period after the fall of the Roman Empire around 500 CE to the 1350’s. During this time the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope held the most power throughout Europe, the priests often lived in a closed area inside the walls of the monasteries. “Schools were few. Illiteracy was widespread” (Background essay) because of this average person of this time was illiterate .and more than 85 percent of the population were farmers and peasants called serfs and they worked in an estate for the owner called the lord.

The Renaissance was a period in time where everything started to change after the middle ages. During this historical period humans stared evolving by becoming smarter and inventing useful recourses that have changed the world. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. The Renaissance changed man’s view on the world by using Art, Science and Literature to make humans brighter and because of the rapid information they were gaining. Art during the Renaissance grew rapidly because of Leonardo Da Vici, and Michelangelo who changed the way people painted and drew by creating strategies which made art more interesting.
One major difference between the Middle Ages and The Renaissance was the attitude towered ancient classical works by the Greeks and the Romans. The Middle ages saw a suppression of classical works and thinking, regarding it as dangerous to the moral and spiritual health of the society. While the Renaissance witnessed a resurgence in the popularity and critical analysis of the ideas put down by Greek and Roman writers and thinkers. The second difference is in the organizational structures of political power and kingdoms.
Between the 14th and 16th century, Italy went through what they termed as Renaissance which was characterized by several changes in the country. As described in Italy, Renaissance means rebirth or rebuilding of a given societal role. The transition of the country came from the medieval to the early European period where different normal operations of the society were greatly altered. Before the rebirth process began, the Italians had the desire to rebuild some of their greatest being thus the creation of the Renaissance process. As a result of the process, Italy had several achievements regarding science, literature, philosophy, music and arts.
