The middle ages were dark times. Many of the art was in Gothic style. Church was the center of the society. Church ruled everything if you did not go to church you were prosecuted.

The Renaissance was a time of growth and new development. Paris was the economic epicenter and strong hold in Europe. Like a prehistoric United States cultures mixed in Paris brought new ideas together.

The Middle ages and the Renaissance were two different times. In the Middle ages church ruled everything under Pope Gregory.
