From September 15th to October 15th, we celebrate the impact Hispanics have had on the United States. Miguel Antonio Otero was an important figure who contributed in the economic development of New Mexico. He had many successes in his field of work as a government official and businessman. Miguel Antonio Otero was born on June 21, 1829 in Valencia, Nuevo México (New Mexico). Don Vicente Otero and Doña Gertrudis Aragón de Otero, his father and mother, were natives of Spain who had come to New Mexico as colonists.
Jose Antonio Navarro was a very important man because he was involved in the Texas Revolution. He was born on February 27, 1795, and he was sent to Saltillo, Mexico as a young child, and injured his leg that didn 't heal properly which caused him to have a limp. The same year he injured his leg father died from a severe illness. He learned the merchant trade which was his father´s occupation, and has his own trade post, but specialized in Mexican Law. Which didn´t really make any sense.

Conquistadors: A Conquistador is a leader in the Spanish conquest of the Americas. They were individuals whose weapons, organizational skills, and determination brought them remarkable success. Hernan cortes was a very important conquistador because he defeated the Aztec empire, and took over Mexico for Spain. Francisco Pizarro was an also an important conquistador because he brought over weapons, gunpowder, and horses and he discovered the Incas and then he conquered the Inca empire. Francisco Vasquez de coronado was an explorer and a conquistador who led a large voyage from Mexico to present-day Kansas.
Henry Cisneros was one of my political heroes. Many of my closest friends and I believed Henry had the potential to become the first Hispanic president of our country. I had the privilege of meeting Henry Cisneros personally and I was very impressed. He was one of our brightest political stars born of Mexican American parents.
The definition of a quinceanera is the celebration of a girls fifteenth birthday and her transition from childhood to adulthood. Todays celebrations show the importance of family, your religion, and social responsibility. The main customs to a quinceanera is God, family, friends, dance, music, and food. Today some families throw a quinceanera for a girl 's sweet sixteen and not only do they celebrate the normal customs, but they can make up their own ideas and ways to celebrate. This celebration takes place in countries such as Cuba, South America, Central America, and Mexico and they also call it different many names: such as quinces, Anos, a Fiesta Rosa, and obviously a Quinceanera.

Carlos Fuentes applies a cyclical view to Mexican history using Felipe and Llorente, and Consuelo and Consuelo. The first
“Do one thing every day that scares you” by “Eleanor Roosevelt”. This quote can relate to the two passages “Barrio Boy” by Ernesto Galarza and “A Day 's Wait” by Ernest Hemingway. The way this quote relates to these two passages is in these two passages the main characters were scared of something they never did or believed in before. This caused Ernesto and Schatz to get an experience that they will never forget. Would this quote truly tie these two passages together or would it be something else?
This novel was written based on the Mexican revolution, which was an important event in history for the people of Mexico. The author of this novel, Juan Rulfo portrays the characters as being lost in purgatory to show how the people of Mexico felt during the time of Porfirio Diaz. Juan Rulfo used his experiences and suffering during the revolution and turned it into literature. During the Mexican revolution, there were situations in which men were more powerful and played a more important role in society than women. The use of descriptive language and imagery in the novel allows readers to understand how horrific the time period was and how the people felt.
I do not think that Don Quixote would have been as successful without his horse, Rocinante. The horse was a large part of his adventure and the story would not have been complete for him without a horse. He viewed the horse as being such a major part of the “hero” or “knight” persona that was prevalent in the culture of his lifetime. A knight cannot truly succeed without his horse for both protection and his main source of transportation. The relationship he has with his horse allowed him to trust the horse completely which led to success throughout the tale.
Throughout Miguel de Cervantes novel, Don Quixote, there is a fine line between reality and illusion that seems to vanish portraying a prominent theme in the novel. Don Quixote de La Mancha, a fifty-year-old man, has an insane obsession in reading chivalry books; he is so absorbed in reading these books that he decides to become a knight-errant himself that will set off on adventures for his eternal glory. These books of chivalry have left Don Quixote so deep within his fantasy that there is no risk of him perceiving true reality. There are a plethora of examples where Don Quixote 's perceived reality is his idealistic fantasies. Cervantes expresses these complexities so much that we begin to notice the social criticism Don Quixote receives from people he encounters.
