In the adaptation of the novel Fahrenheit 451, very specific actors and celebrities were chosen to play the lead roles in the movie. The producers chose James Harden of the Houston Rockets to play Guy Montag for many reasons. James, like Montag, went from just contributing in his society and going along with what other people said and being a small role, to breaking out and being a greater role and an influence. Once James Harden left the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he was suppressed by Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, he left and joined the Rockets and became a superstar and someone who mattered in the NBA. That is just like when Montag left the firehouse where he was being taunted and held back by Captain Beatty, and going out and wanting
Clarisse McClellan and Mildred's friends in Bradbury's novel, Fahrenheit 451 appear only briefly, nonetheless, they still have a great impact on the development of guy Montag as well as the plot. Montag thrives to do better with their influence; Clarisse by making him wonder about the potential beauty of the world, and Mrs. Clara Phelps and Mrs. Ann Bowles by proving to him the harshness of the society. As neighbours, Clarisse heavily affects Montag because of the society's condition on people like her and her family. Clarisse McClellan is a teenage character with a wondrous and curious personality about the world and nature. She confirms to be unmistakably strange and different in comparison to the other people around her.
After Beatty leaves Montag’s house at the end of Part One, Montag pulls out all the books he’s taken and begins reading with them, along with Mildred, “‘Books aren’t people. You read and I look all around, but there isn’t anybody!’” (Bradbury 73). Mildred is incredibly ignorant and unwilling to learn about books, which just fuels Montag’s motivation even more towards increasing knowledge and comprehension of books. Because of this motivation, Montag goes to find Faber and asks him for help.
Guy Montag follows a different path in Fahrenheit 451. Montag is the antitheses of Anakin and Jack. In spite of that, his story still incorporates the symbolic mask portrayed as a physical mask. The purpose of a fireman in Montag’s society was to burn books because of their bad influence. Montag was a fireman himself and required a mask to prevent inhaling smoke or ashes from the books he burned.
In Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, Montag, the protagonist and book burner, battles between the light and dark sides of society, first with Beatty, his boss, and the government and then with Clarisse, a neighbor girl and Faber, an English professor. Montag is stuck in the dark burning books and is ignorant to the world around him. He moves towards greater awareness when he meets Clarisse and is awakened to the wonders of deep thought and books. Finally, he risks his life by trying to save the books.
Mildred’s friends, much like Mildred, were very absorbed in talking about themselves. When Montag came home to see her friends, it was evident that they were afraid of Montag; trying to please Montag by talking about politics (Bradbury, 96). However, when Montag grabbed a book to read, they all questioned him, causing Montag to be angry and forcing them to listen to the poetry (Bradbury, 98). This caused Mildred’s friends to call the fire station and told them that Montag had been keeping books. This caused his house to be burnt down; “Was it my wife turned in the alarm?"
The two have a short visit on a bench where it was evident to Montag that Faber was obstructing his view of a book with his coat. Yet for some reason, Faber gave Montag his contact information that day. Years later, after Clarisse and the old woman have planted the ember of curiosity for books and life in Montag, his intuition sent him to Faber for help. He decided to seek out Faber. Montag needs answers, help and direction.
In my first theory Bradbury provides us a view inside of their characteristics. it teaches the reader what happens when we lose books. It takes away what makes us human like our imagination, creativity, and our happiness. we see this like when we see how guy Montag's and Mildred's relationship. we see this because we see how Montag has kind of lost his love for Mildred.
Montag starts arguing with Mildred about how she is acting. She is depressed and does not even know it. Mildred thinks that the voices in the walls are her family. Montag tries to get her to see what is really happening in society. She is so unaware of her actions that Montag has top tell her, “maybe you took two pills and forgot and took to more, and forgot again and took two more, and were so dopey you kept right on until you had thirty or forty of them in you” (Bradbury 17).
Mildred Montag’s True Happiness In Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, technology basically is society's main focus. There are no more books and everything is done digitally. They have televisions that plaster the length of the walls and absolutely strict rules on “older” things, such as being able to read books. The society in the book is different from today’s society.
Clarisse McClellan is the most significant character in the novel Fahrenheit 451. Clarisse plays a huge role in the storyline as she is the reason of Montag’s metamorphosis. She does this by making Montag question his surroundings, being a role model and changing Montag’s emotions towards others. Clarisse’s role and impact on Montag makes the most Important character.
(MIP-2) From certain experiences, Montag comes to realize that he’s not actually happy with his life because he discovers that it lacks genuine, valuable, or humane relationships, eventually driving him to find the truth about his society by making him think about and question it. (SIP-A) Montag realizes from his experiences with Clarisse that his relationships in his life lack genuity, value, or humanity. (STEWE-1)
Montag stole a book; the Book of Ecclesiastes. He explains this to Faber because he wants Faber to understand how passionate he has become for wanting to learn and use books. Montag’s love for reading gradually grows more and more because he is beginning to actually read them. That is another reason why the book of Ecclesiastes is so important because it is the first one he actually begins to read. Montag feels a power source from the books he is reading that energizes his feeling of gaining more knowledge from them.
In the novel Fahrenheit 451, the main character Montag is a fireman, but instead of putting out fires he starts them. At first Montag was a very closed person. He lived his life with society just being the average person. After meeting Clarisse, becoming interested in books and being curious to know more, his mind opened up. He became a completely different person who didn’t care about what society thought about him and whether or not he was doing something bad or defying society.
Montag has done a total reversal since when he met Clarisse. He started out as a man who burned books and destroyed ideas to a man who now not only wants to protect them, but bring back the freedom of thought. He seeks out a professor, Faber, who lost his job after his liberal arts school shut down because of lack of interest. During their first meeting, Faber is scared that Montag might arrest him or turn him in because of his position. Faber denies knowing anything about how many copies of different books are left.
