The structure and design of the Military is similar to any other major organization within the workforce, in fact the necessary requirements to continue operations account for over 55 percent of the yearly national discretionary spending totaling around 600 billion (values will fluctuate depending upon involvement in wartime conflicts.) The major stakeholders for the Military include the following: The Officers are responsible the planning, decision making, and execution of the orders of the President. Intrinsic rewards such as work performance are often tied into Extrinsic rewards like promotions. Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers receive quarterly performance counseling annually. These evaluations are vital for promotions in rank and future assignment of positions of increased responsibilities. While no one should perform just to receive a good evaluation, there is an unwritten understanding that this piece of paper could help or hinder your career, with that being said some evaluators tend to hang it over the rated individuals head as a threat in order for one to perform, increase productivity, or bend to their will. Just like any other Cooperation the Military has a Headquarters whom set forth the guidelines and rules in which the Company is to operate, yet if you move to different elements you will begin to notice that each location has its own set of written and unwritten rules.
