The government wants to hide their big secret. Unlike what many government operations state mind control is very real and still practiced by the CIA. Mind control in this case is induced by drugs and torture instead of the generic theory of microchips in the brain, making what the CIA does shockingly realistic. The CIA has been doing it for years in hiding, they call the project MK-Ultra. Many people do not understand the concept of mind control so the government uses that lack of knowledge to warp the public’s view of it. There are two different types of mind control. The first one is the ability to control something with your mind through the neurological energy being put off when focusing on a specific objective. The second one is when a person’s thought process is interrupted by an external force and then taken advantage of by another person such that a person’s thoughts are actually someone else’s (Newsbeat. Even since the beginning all government agencies have been secretive with how they conduct themselves and how they spend their funding, but in the 1970’s John Marks used the freedom of information act to bring the public’s attention which showed the world what the CIA had done and achieved from it. During 1950’s to 1970’s is when the MK-Ultra projected started and supposedly ended. The CIA had around 150 sub projects going on under it to figure out the best method of torture and mental deterioration. MK-Ultra was basically the CIA trying to find ways to gain information through interrogation, and to also control victim’s minds by inhibiting them with drugs and torture. During the 1950’s and 1960’s for many portions of the project the CIA used Anthropologists to help than understand the human psyche so they could enhance their tactics from just physically beating them to mentally destroying them. The CIA had so much information on torture that in 1963 they wore able to create a hand book for torture methods which is still used today, but they never got a completely effective way of mind control by 1963.
