I agree that the minimum driving age should be raised from sixteen to eighteen. The minimum driving age is the minimum age at which a person may acquire a driver’s licence to drive a vehicle on public roads. Sixteen year olds are not fully developed enough to manage the skills for driving. Teenagers are lazy, incompetent, irrational, and should not be on the roads driving.The minimum driving age should be raised from sixteen to eighteen because teenagers are irresponsible, inexperienced, and are safety hazards. Teen drivers are involved in twelve percent of fatal vehicle crashes. Sixteen year old drivers are twenty times more likely to have a vehicle wreck. Teenagers usually tend to take more risks because of their emotions, stress, and peer pressure in their life. Older drivers learn how to break or ignore the pressures of life by adapting to them when driving. Some people believe that the driving age should not be raised from sixteen to eighteen. They think teenagers are calm, rational, and sensible when driving. Research has proven that teenagers are actually nervous, illogical, and thoughtless when driving. People who drive need well developed brains; teenagers are still developing at age sixteen. Sixteen year olds do not contain the necessary skill set to drive. The minimum driving age should be increased from sixteen to eighteen because teenagers are irresponsible, inexperienced, and are safety hazards. Teens tend to speed more often than adults, and also tend to allow less following distance between vehicles. Sixteen year old drivers do not have the knowledge or skill to drive.
