As a 15 year old, I know that us teenagers are more reckless, so the driving age should not be lowered. First of all, 13 and 14 year olds are not mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving. Would parents really feel good about their kid driving out be themselves? No, the parents would be stressing out all the time, afraid that their child could be in an accident.
You stated, "Most college students attending a 4 year university are under the age of 21." That alone is a good enough reason to lower the drinking age. Most students graduate high school at 17/18 and then go off to a 4 year University. You think it 's okay to not be able to drink until your sophomore/senior year of college? I just do not think it 's reasonable nor realistic.
Teenagers can now drive if or when they turn 16 years of age. Driving is a sort of responsibility and there are prove today that many teenagers with handicap parents in Texas can drive well on the road. lowering the voting age would increase turnout, allow teenagers to contemplate on issues that directly affect them and motivate schools to improve civic education. Texas has a very low turnout among people of voting age. This year, there were 14.7 republican voters turn out and 7.2 democrats turn out.
The driving age in Victoria for a provisional driver to obtain their provisional license should be lowered from 18 to 17. Every other state in Australia already has the age to get their P’s at 17 and in the northern territory it is at 16 and 9 months so why should Victorians be the ones that have to wait an extra year when every other state and territory has proved that it is safe and does not mean more accidents, countries such as the United States who have the age 17 have shown that the law is fine and safe and by lowering the age the it is bound to reduce drink driving accidents as teens are now exposed to one earlier than the other allowing them to get over that novelty stage of wanting to do both, thus creating less accidents. Firstly,
Should the Legal Driving age be increased in the United States In the United states the driving age is 17 but many different people have many different opinions on the question “should the driving age should be increased or decreased”. Driving is a big responsibility many people believe that driving is a start of an adult, but in society people thinks it’s a lesson of responsibility and adulthood. My Opinion is that driving should be increased to the age of 19. “The Vital area develops through the teenage years but fully develops when you turn the age 25” (Davis).
DevonMeston Per 5 Sources: http://www.theage.com LOWER DRIVING AGES The Law Institute says the minimum driving age should be considered in the context of a young person's need to access education, work and social opportunities, especially in areas poorly served by public transport. The push for a lower driving age is not without opposition. It also comes after road safety authorities have campaigned for decades on the need for young drivers to be safe on the road given their age and relative inexperience.
Texas should not change the age for driving to 18. Because at the age of 16 you know what you are doing and now the consequences to it .And if are not going to follow the rules at age 16. What make you think you will follow them driving at age 18. Some examples to keep the driving age to 16.
Allowing teens to drive at the age of 16 allows teens to travel to new places and in some cases even develop some responsibility. Teens who drive are able to go to jobs and such where they can get real world experience and develop some responsibility. Allowing teens to drive at the age of 16 is also very convenient for everyone. After 16 years of lugging their child back and forth parents are finally given a break. One driving expert recalled,” “We have parents who are pretty much tired of chauffeuring their kids around, and they want their children to be able to drive.”
The last thing you want to danger your kids is another driver, they may be intoxicated or just not caring for your safety or anyone else's. There are alot of dangers with young drivers, they are irresponsible and only care about fun and friends and are reckless. Eighteen year olds are more responsible and responsive when it comes to driving and aware. Safety is a really big deal when it comes to driving so we should up the driving age to eighteen.
Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18? I take the position that the driving age should not be raised to 18. Many people believe that 16 year olds are too young to drive. However, many 16 to 17 year olds and their families disagree. Teens enjoy their freedom, and not all teens are stereotypically “wild” or “out of hand” on the road.
If the age was lowered than we could cut down on our busing expenses of fueling, running, repairing, and even owning the vehicle. Furthermore, life would be less of a hassle, rushing tired and groggy teens out the doors to get to the bus before it leaves the stop. The teens would be able to leave at any time they wanted to drive themselves to school without a specific time limit. Convenience is a huge part the “for argument” of the driving age. There is constantly times when the teens ask to get rides to extra-curricular activities, parties, the mall, and many other activities, that sometimes it would be better for them to drive
Driving at 16 allows parents to oversee young drivers before they are legally independent adults. Lawmakers may think by raising the minimum driving age that they can minimize accidents, but in actuality, they are depriving teens the chance to learn under adult supervision. If the driving age were raised to 18, kids would be out on their own and learning to drive on their own. At 16, teens are still covered by their parents ' insurance driving closer to home, which offers more support should they get in an accident. Before teens leave home, parents can be sure they have a solid driving history that they can be comfortable with while gaining valuable experience.
As I think raising the driving age to 18 is a benefit with less harm.while not raising it will harm lives.therefore,it should be discussed. Futhermore, traffic accidents is affecting the lives of the future generation. I think raising the driving age to 18 plays a part in preventing massive car crashes. As its being found that the underage drivers are more likely to go into car accidents than adults ' 'Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults ' '.(Palicz).I assume if we raise driving age to 18 such incidents will decrease. I also believe adults are more prepared for driving than underage
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Teens need to have their own experiences. Driving at sixteen is a great way for teens to indulge in experiences and start a more independent life. The driving age should not be raised because driving gives one freedom, driving allows teens to work, and driving teaches responsibility.
Most teenagers think that being able to control the car while speeding means that they drive well. Increasing the driving age will significantly condense car accidents. While some people say teenagers can develop independence, the driving age should be raised to 21 because the level of obesity is high, teenagers are immature, and car accidents are increasing rapidly. Firstly, teenagers are the ones who are most likely to act in such reckless and
