The legal age of driving should be raised. To start off, there are teen that can’t mentally and physically drive. Distracting objects such as cell phones, friends in the same vehicle, radio, and anything they can think of are all deadly when driving a 4,000 pound vehicle. Teens are most likely going to be involved in drugs and alcohol. All in all, the legal driving age should be raised for numerous reasons.
Similar to the USA, At the age of 16, a teen can be able to start learning to drive and 6 months later, if enough driving hours are filled out, they can receive their permit. With a permit, they must be driving with someone who is over 18 with a full driving license. If however, that teen is in a situation where they might need to get their driving license early, at about 14 or 15, They are allowed to fill out a special form, in order to get their driving license at an earlier time. This form will evaluate their family situation and the reasons as to why they might need their license to be established early. A person may not drive under the influence.

One of the current issues facing our nation today is that the states can’t decide whether to leave the legal driving age at sixteen or to make it illegal to drive until you are eighteen years of age. The reason that this is an issue is because there are pros and cons to both sides of the argument. It all depends on what you think is best for you and your state. If it is legal to drive at sixteen in your state, then it allows the kids in your state to get a slight feeling of being an adult. For 16 year olds, the thought of obtaining a drivers license is exciting. Being able to go shopping, visit with friends, and just drive around town is a major step towards being independent. I think the driving age should stay at the age of 16 because as you get older you have more experience driving. Safety still is a problem because 16 year olds are reckless as well so its a bigger chance that more people could be in danger young teens that are behind the wheel going fast and doing what ever else they do when there alone trying to be cool for who ever.
