Hosea is the 28th book of the Bible and is attributed to Hosea from the Old Testament book of the Minor Prophets. The themes in Hosea are God telling Hosea to marry "an adulteress wife" to symbolically represent Israel 's spiritual adultery. God told Hosea that His people were destroyed for a lack of knowledge. They had no desire to know God. When their king, Jeroboam II died; they had been living in prosperity and peace, but within 15 years of this kings death, four of Israel 's other kings had been assassinated.
