The period 1750 to 1900 saw a huge transformation in all aspects of society. Beginning in Great Britain, the manufacturing process shifted from hand production to factory production. Newly-invented machines, utilising steam power for the first time, caused the number of goods being produced to grow exponentially. Rather than goods having to be created slowly and by hand, factory systems yielded more and more products, creating everything from pairs of shoes to machine guns. This new system not only impacted economies, but political structures and social norms.
“Achoo!” Fumes flowed through the air as a young man coughed. It was the year 1900, and 26% of boys ages 10-15 were already in the workforce. The United States faced many problems like this one in the early 1900’s. From sanitation, to wildlife, to labor and factories, the states were struggling.
I think that many changes occurred during the time period of 1890-1920 because of innovation/invention, education, and social darwinism. I think that innovation and inventions caused changes during this time period because, all of these new things meant that way of lives could be changed for the better. Secondly, education caused changes in society because of the way the community was now thinking. Finally, social darwinism played a role in causing the changes that took place during this time period. Inventions and Innovation played a crucial part in creating change during the 2nd industrial revolution.
The 1st and 2nd industrial revolution were two major events that both occurred within 1750 CE to 1900 CE. Both “revolutions” were marked by advancements in industrialization/mechanization and increased productivity (efficiency). Another similarity was their impact on the population in whole and the working population. On the other hand, two differences were that the inventions made and the areas the revolution spread to.
Between 1800 and 1890 we will see a massive explosion of industrial expansion in Europe and especially in Britain. This explosion is called the industrial revolution and would have massive implications on the rest of history that reverberates today. This industrial revolution would be fueled by the competitiveness between nations and one of the biggest driving forces was Britain. Britain would have a monopoly over the industrialized market of the world for many decades. This is because of Britain’s head start on industrializing with the first steam Engine being invented in England in the early 18th century.

The Industrial Revolution, which took place from the 18th to 19th centuries, changed the way countries in Europe functioned. Before this it was a period predominantly agrarian. The industrial revolution led rural societies in Europe to become industrial and urban. Preceding the Industrial Revolution, manufacturing was often done in people’s homes, using hand tools or basic machinery. Before World War I, all of Europe in 1914, was tense and like a bomb or a fire was waiting to erupt. Europe had not seen a major war in years, but due to Militarism, Imperialism, Alliances, and Nationalism tensions grew high. Each country was competing to be the best by gaining more territory and growing in their military size and successful economies. World War 1 was waiting to happen and the assassination of the Archduke was the spark that lit Europe up. In All Quiet on the Western Front, by Erich Maria Remarque we see the effects of the assassination.
As the end of the second decade of the 20th century came to a close, the European world was in shambles. In the years 1914 to 1918, all of the European countries and some other world powers fought in the treacherous battle that was World War I. The two main forces of the European power were the Triple Alliance, formed of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, and the Triple Entente, formed of Great Britain, France, and Russia. Before this war started, it was thought by most that it would be a quick war and little would occur across the countries in battle. After the four years of World War I, millions were dead, cities were left in ruin, and all anyone could do was look for someone to blame for all the destruction.
The United States history revolves around some very important events. Without these events, the United States of America would have looked very different. This essay will be between the 1700s to the 1890s. Each event lead to another and began shaping the U.S.A. into the country that it is today. In determining the effect of each event, this essay will analyze each event and show the impact it lead to.
Before the 19th century, almost everything was made by hand in a painstakingly long process. However, around 1760, the industrial revolution began in Europe. Everything began to be manufactured and processed by machines. People migrated to the cities for jobs as demand for workers increased, and the industry prospered. Products were created quicker and more easily with the aid of machines, and national wealth flourished.
Another example that does not help the author’s main point was when he talk about the Asian kids for being smart. Rodriguez mentions “But if Asians tend to annoy us for being so family oriented, they are also stereotypically celebrated as the new ‘whiz kids’ in school” (261). He assumes that Asians tend to be categorized as smart people just because their parents think of their values as getting good grades and becoming a doctor. Although the authors use of stereotypical examples were not good to prove his claims, majority of the authors points backed up his main idea very well.
The Industrial Revolution was a turning point for Western Europe. This revolution forever altered Western Europe and in turn Europe’s colonial subjects as well. The Revolution is responsible for the biggest successes and failures of Western Europe, as well as changing the technology, economics, politics, and society from what it was. The industrial revolution changed western Europe’s civilization in the terms of technology.
The early 20th century had a remarkable impact on human kind, creating ripples in the continuum of history that are still felt in modern times. The biggest and by far the most remarkable event was World War 1. It's main trigger being the assassination of Archduke Franz the war began tragic and tense. In an attempt to prevent Germany from becoming too powerful, other European joined powers for what was to be an exhausting and long battle of attrition. The war was essentially a huge chain of events, tracing back to the Franco-Prussian War and the actions of important people like Otto Von Bismarck.

These laws that Isaac Newton had created, help mankind understand the complex branch of science known as physics, in a more simple way.
