The following are the three scenarios from our reading that I chose to apply to my current organization:

1. Hire, develop, and retain effective communication.
• At my current organization, the front-end cashiers like myself have very good communication with our head cashiers, and front-end supervisor when a new way of doing things comes along in our ever-changing work environment. Our head cashiers and front-end supervisor always are careful to make sure to speak with each cashier when changes in polices arise and sometimes they make up a contract for each of us to sign that is called a PK (public knowledge) contract. There is an employee website that shows the employees all open positions in the store which is very useful for those looking to advance in the company. It also shows our schedules for 3 weeks at a time, our sick time, our vacation time and all our punches in and out at the time clock. We also have a free app that is available for free in the App store and the Google Play store that I am always encouraging our customers to get. It tells our customers how many of an item is in stock and even gives the aisle and bay number in the store where the item is located. It even tells where the closest store to the home store is that stocks the item and gives the customer a buy online ship to store option right on the app. We strive to keep coming up with new ways to make the customer experience easy in our store and the Home Depot App is another way we do …show more content…

This group is a way for employees of the store to share experiences and work-related events that happen in our store with the other employees of the group. We discuss things like current job openings, our days and different ways of doing things. There is also a message board on the employee website that is designed to do the same thing, but any employee from any store is welcome to join and we talk about creative ways to get customers to sign up for credit cards, different things we did for cashier appreciation month and various other things going on in our respective stores. It is fun to see how stores around the United States run things, and how we are similar and very
