A sustainability report is a report that is prepared by companies and organizations in order to inform their stakeholders of how the organization is committed to moving towards being more sustainable. Sustainability reports usually address the Triple Bottom Line of social, environmental, and economical sustainability. In this paper, I will analyze the sustainability report prepared by the company Monsanto for the year 2015. Monsanto is a leader in the food and agriculture market, in the sense that they own and provide 86% of seeds in the world, seeds that are genetically modified [1]. Through this network they claim to leading the food and nutrition dialogue where they work together with culinary specialist, dietitians, nutrition scientists, and other experts to engage conversations about food and nutrition. Interesting enough, the section in the report dedicated to this is simply an interview with a member of the Monsanto L.E.A.D network who is describing her experience as a member. Not only is this biased because she’s a member, but also because according to the interview in the report, the person receives a yearly honorarium from Monsanto [2]. As positive as the interview may sound in terms of nutrition and Monsanto’s product, the crude reality is that the genetic modification of food is not necessarily a healthy thing. In fact, GMO foods are so volatile at the molecular level, that they may interact differently whenever ingested and manifest themselves through allergic reactions [3] At this point in time, there simply isn’t enough evidence to conclude how exactly GMO foods are and will be affecting humans in the long
