The Kimberly-Clark case is different from other e-tailers because they created a virtual reality tool that allows retailers to gain a better knowledge of shoppers’ behavior (O'Brien & Marakas, 2011). The process for product testing has become quicker and more proficient. The tool gives Kimberly-Clark the ability to test how well products will perform and how consumers will react to new and existing products. This information helps retailers to see where to place the products on the shelves and see advertising displays without placing them in a store.
