Marshall Davis Jones; "Touchscreen" this is a Slam poem. The meaning behind this poem is to make a point on how technology is taking over the world and how humanity is no longer what it was years ago. He repeats a line during the slam poem doesn’t it feel good to touch. There are a lot of different meanings to this statement but the one that he is working towards is using technology makes people feel like they belong and they can be safe behind that computer or phone screen things come into account here, humanity is becoming dependent on technology so that they can function in day to day life. Marshall Davis delivers his poem by saying it like he is a computer it draws in the audience to the speaker making them connect and him getting his message across speaking like that rather than speaking to the audience in a normal voice makes it more exciting and makes to poem more enjoyable. To make us human again”. This is a line from the slam poem that has a really deep meaning to it says that people cannot live without technology and he is hoping for change later on, he is hoping that technology can help us to become human again, By becoming human again he doesn’t meant that we are not physically human but he means that we are not able to communicate like we use to before Facebook and YouTube and make people communicate face to face. This poem relates to me because I believe that people should go out and interact with new people and build relationships without having to go on Facebook and add a friend and then you never actually meet them in real life, which is along the lines of what Marshall is getting at with saving the human
