Crayfish are decapods pertaining to the phylum arthropoda, which are invertebrates and contain an open-circulatory system.1 The system works by the hemolymph getting re-oxygenated in the gills before being transporting to the heart by brachio-cardiac veins and then pumped to sinuses that bathe tissues with oxygenated hemolymph.2 The crayfish contain a neurogenic heart that depends on neuronal input from cardiac ganglion.3 The neurogenic heart requires nerve impulses to produce contractions in contrast to a myogenic heart that can contract independently from the nervous system.3 The crayfish heart will beat due to the reaction of the ganglion to stimuli in the environment.4 Stimuli will affect the autonomic nervous system in the crayfish that control involuntary actions such as the heart rhythm.4 Neurotransmitters are the chemical signals in which the nervous system regulates both heart rate and contraction.3The autonomic nervous system breaks into two categories as parasympathetic system that is involved in relaxation of organs and the sympathetic system that will stimulate increased activity. Neurotransmitters can either increase or decrease heart rate by altering the patterns in neural activity of the heart.4 Crayfish are poikilotherms, which means they cannot metabolically thermoregulate thus conform to the ambient temperature in the water.
“A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel” (King James Version, Prov. 12.10). In order to fully regard the life of God’s beasts, we must preserve/facilitate their population so others can look and marvel at God’s creation. Information shows that seahorse populations are commonly vulnerable to heavy exploitation due to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), aquarium trade, and destruction of natural habitats (Allee). The IUCN red list of threatened species tracks animal populations and classifies them based on conservation status. Many species of seahorse such as the Hippocampus Reidi are classified as data deficient; showing there is a lack of research and concern over these disappearing
The three spined stickleback fish has many unique traits. some of the most notable structural adaptive traits of this specie are the three spines and body armor. The three spines are sharp and located on the back forward of the dorsal fin. The lateral bony plates are located on each side of the body. These structural armors projecting from the back and pelvis can simultaneously flare out when the fish feels threatened as a defense against predatory vertebrates making it difficult for predators to swallow them.
Lifestyle: Pargon Fish will mostly be found on the surface layers of warm, well-oxygenated waters– conditions
On August 23, 1823, Harriet’s brother-in-law, and Boudinot’s former teacher, Herman Vaill, wrote Harriet a letter urging her to choose a spouse as she saw fits regardless of race. He said, “You see I do not urge you to “Forbear”—choose who you please, white, or black, or red” (Gaul 80). This letter was written three years before Harriet and Elias married in 1826. Although Vaill claims he would accept any partner Harriet chose to marry, two years later on June 29th, 1825, as Harriet’s marriage becomes more imminent to a “red” man, Vail’s letter seemingly contradicts his earlier words. “I do, most affectionately advice, that you give up all present intentions, & all thoughts, of becoming united in marriage with an Indian” (Gaul 92).
For many it’s a first pet, a gift from family, something you won as a prize at a carnival, but for Canadian residents the familiar orange goldfish everyone knows and loves is becoming a serious problem. Some flush them in a hurry because they no longer want to take care of them, others commit them to a porcelain vortex because they believe their beloved fish has passed, and the Canadian Government is issuing a warning now to citizens of Canada to stop flushing their fish. Just a few goldfish with the potential to disrupt an entire ecosystem Goldfish are entering the ecosystem the way that a lot of invasive species end up in an environment they don’t belong, Humans are putting them there. Human interference is one of the leading causes of the beginning of over population of invading alien species. In this case many of the fish are going down drains, and ending up in Canada’s lakes and rivers.
The stickleback fish have gained much attention from evolutionary biologists because of their historic ability to adapt to conditions that were not favorable and to survive successfully in them. They are also able to give researchers insight into how evolution occurs in other organisms. The stickleback normally spawns in freshwater but lives in the salt-water ocean. Long ago when ice melted and receded, the fish were given new possible places to inhabit and they did, expanding their spawning locations to newly formed streams. Eventually, though, the streams were cut off from the sea and the once salt-water sticklebacks were faced with the problem of being stuck in freshwater with no way to get out.1
Lionfish were most likely introduced through the pet trade like the python. Although there is another theory that they were introduced by floating lionfish nest, it is rather unlikely considering that the nearest native range for them is the South pacific and the Indian Ocean around Australia and India. Lionfish were first reported off of Florida 's Atlantic Coast near Dania Beach in 1985. The lionfish 's habitat ranges greatly from 1 foot of water to 300 feet. It usually thrives in reefs but it is also easily found in hard bottom areas, mangroves, seagrass flats, and shipwrecks.
High School Fishing Club High schools offer extracurricular activities, clubs and sports for students to help them become involved in their school and develop team building and leadership skills. Some types of clubs offered by schools include Pep Club, SADD Club (Students Against Drunk Driving), Chess Club, and FFA (Future Farmers of America), just to name a few. More and more schools in the country are creating a fishing club. The question that arises is how long will it be until fishing clubs are offered at every school in the country?
The Native Americans of the North West Coast region adapted to their environment with the uses of fish, trees, and animal hides. The Native Americans of the North West Coast used fish as their main food resource. They made their house close to beaches and bays because it was faster to capture the fish. Fish was used more than any other food source Because it’s easier than any other food.
People don 't understand that this doesn 't just affect whales, it also effect people to because the belugas play a very important role in our ecosystem. If we don 't stop killing or hurting them right now later down the road we will pay for it. Later on in life if you start to see overwhelming amount of bad fish for an ecosystem and they are destroying it because there are no predators to keep the fish population down. Beluga whale help keep the ocean 's ecosystem healthy by eating fish and reducing the amount of fish that are bad for an environment. Belugas also are good for the deep sea because when anything dies and falls to the abyss from the topside they go through different layers of the ocean.

How to free dive, not with oxygen tanks, and not off of a diving board. Free diving is purely breath hold, without oxygen tanks or air pockets. Diving for lobster is very important to me because it is a hobby that I share with my dad and also my uncles. Diving is a hobby that forces many people out of their comfort zone, and puts me back into mine. I love diving because, you are able to think so many things while being completely silent.
Recent concerns that jellyfish populations are increasing have stimulated speculation about possible causes including climate change, eutrophication, over fishing and invasions (Jennifer E, 2007). The moon jellyfish has become a bit of a nuisance to many different fishing companies, they diminish the size of commercially important fish larvae by either direct predation or due to the result of food competition (Dawson and Jacobs 2001). Reports of human problems with jellyfish have increased and have captured public attention. Jellyfish and jelly-like sea creatures come in an immensely diverse range of forms. If a jellyfish is cut in two, the pieces of the jellyfish can regenerate and create two new organisms.
